Description
The Heltec 4-6S 5A LTO active balancer for 4-6 cells is suitable for Yinlong and B2 Audio LTO (Lithium Titanium Oxide) single cells, among others. The capacity, whether 35Ah, 40Ah or 45Ah, is irrelevant for balancing.
A balancer is only required when using single cells. The balancer ensures an even electrical charge distribution of all cells, but slightly different galvanic cells within the battery pack due to manufacturing tolerances and ageing in electrical terms. This achieves an optimum compromise in terms of usable capacity and protection of individual cells from critical states of charge.
Info: If a set is to be designed with 40, 80 or 120Ah, for example, only 1 balancer is required! The balancer is then connected to 6 cells in series and the other cells are simply connected in parallel to the series-connected cells. Here is a connection example with 6 and 12 cells and a balancer:
