Description
The Hifonics HF-SC6 signal converter/high-low adapter impresses with its absolutely brilliant sound characteristics. The result is no coincidence, as the developers attached great importance to outstanding technical data right from the design stage. And they are truly something to be seen and heard: sensationally high signal-to-noise ratios of 115-121 dB combined with very low distortion factors of 0.001% impressively demonstrate that the converters are real highlights. They are designed for connection to conventional car radios with an output of up to 50 watts RMS per channel into 2 ohms.
Another special feature of the multi-channel converters is the onboard summing function. This circuit is a must for many new vehicles if the music signal cannot be tapped "in one piece", but the frequency ranges for the factory-installed speakers have been electrically separated. A conventional converter would be completely useless here. With the HF-SC converters, on the other hand, the split output signals from the factory system can simply be combined again by activating the "MIXED" function with a switch. The sophisticated electronics then generate a full-range signal at the outputs, which can be used to optimally control external DSPs or amplifiers.
Thanks to EPS, the converters can also be easily connected to factory radios that have a so-called load detection circuit. As a further feature for interference suppression, "floating ground" can be activated via a jumper.
