M8s-500s - Overview
The M8-700 has received excellent reviews and enthusiastic reactions from knowledgeable audiophiles. The combination of high power and state-of-the-art technical performance has proven to be a winning combination. However, some customers don't have the space for two large monoblocks and don't necessarily need that much power. For them, we have developed the M8s-500s. In combination with the matching M8 preamplifier, the result is an amplifier system that is suitable for the highest playback levels.
Design + construction
The M8s-500s is a fully balanced stereo amplifier with an output of 500 WpC, which almost doubles at 4 ohms. The M8s-500s is designed for very low distortion, typically less than 0.001% at 1 kHz and less than 0.005% at 20 kHz. Even at the ridiculous level of 50 kHz, distortion is only 0.02%, rising to around 0.06% at the even more unreasonable figure of 100 kHz. These may be measurements of frequencies that never occur in the real world, but they prove that the M8s-500s distorts significantly less than competing products.
Like the M8-700m, the M8s-500s has very low noise. Its combination of enormous power reserves, low distortion and low noise contributes to its effortless performance. It delivers everything from delicate details to massive dynamic hits with incredible speed and precision.
