In recent years, Zapco has developed two special amplifier series that take car sound to a new level. The Z-Series AP amplifier, the ultimate SQ amplifier for high end - No controls except gain. Zapco has also developed the Z-SP series amplifiers for the SQPL fanatics who want to listen to music full time at full volume but still maintain audiophile sound. With the Z-II SQ Competition Series, Zapco has revisited the roots of the Z-Series that started it all and made numerous improvements.

• A new TI operational amplifier that offers a significantly better signal-to-noise ratio and a lower noise floor.
• The same audiophile capacitors are used as in the LX and SP amplifiers.
• The power supply unit has been upgraded with more capacity, less internal resistance and lower inductance for greater efficiency.
• A power supply unit with more MOSFETs to improve efficiency and current consumption.

• New low-noise TI operational amplifiers as in the SQ amplifiers - Improved Tiffany-style RCA connectors for flush mounting
• The end plates are now recessed, as on the LX amplifiers, to achieve a cleaner look
• The plastic controls have been replaced by the new metal pots and switches. The new pots also have grids (like the SP amplifiers) so that the crossovers and gains can be set identically with several amplifiers.
