Description
The SB Acoustics SATORI MR16PNW 6.5" (16.5cm) bass-midrange driver with paper/papyrus cone is available in a 4 Ohm and 8 Ohm version. The ultra-light cone is driven by a powerful neodymium motor. The resonance frequency around 30 Hz is well outside the useful range, which means that the driver plays extremely linearly in the useful range and is ideal for 2-way use or as a woofer. The generously ventilated centring spider optimizes the rear compression behaviour to a maximum and provides additional cooling.
Features :
- Ventilated, aerodynamic cast aluminum chassis for optimum strength and low compression
- Proprietary cone material with EGYPTIAN PAPYRUS™ fibers from our own production
- Soft rubber surround with low damping for optimum transient response
- Advanced BIMAX spider for improved linearity
- Powerful, optimized neodymium motor system with low distortion
- Non-conductive glass fiber voice coil former for minimal attenuation
- Extended copper sleeve on the pole piece for low inductance and reduced distortion
- CCAW voice coil for reduced moving mass
- Durable silver wires with 180° spacing for improved stability
- Ventilated pole piece and coil carrier for reduced compression
- Low ratio of piston to chassis diameter
- Gasket and bolt hole protrusions for reduced coupling with the speaker enclosure
- Mode-balanced cone for reduced loosening
