If you want to enjoy invisible bass in your vehicle, you can use so-called active under-seat subwoofers. However, if there is no space under the seats, the only alternative is to install them in the trunk. For space reasons, a spare wheel variant is often considered. However, if the diameter of the spare wheel is very small, only very small models such as the MERCURY MRX200A can be used. With a diameter of just 25 cm and an overall height of only 8 cm, it is ideal for this and fits rims from 12 inches in diameter. Fans of vintage vehicles with small spare wheels will particularly enjoy the MRX system. It is amazing how much bass pressure comes out of the small housing.So that the small MRX200A bass wonder also consumes very little power, it uses a very efficient Class D amplifier with an efficiency of up to 87%. The advantage here, in contrast to conventional Class A/B amplifiers, is the low heat build-up, as hardly any losses have to be converted into heat. With an output of 125 watts RMS, it is very powerful. The aluminum diaphragm driven by it converts the power perfectly into sound pressure. The result is a dry and powerful bass.
