A performance for audiophiles
Analog Devices' integrated 400 MHz SHARC processor enables significant processing enhancements previously only available on more expensive platforms. One example is internal 96 kHz processing for true high-resolution audio capability and assignable FIR filter taps for sophisticated equalization, crossover and room correction functions. All these functions can be accessed and programmed with the easy-to-use miniDSP interface software. The SHARC processor can perform both fixed-point and floating-point calculations. This makes the miniDSP Flex Eight perfect for a wide range of applications.
Optional upgrade to Dirac Live Digital Room Correction.
Dirac Live™ is a room correction algorithm developed by the Swedish company Dirac Research AB . It uses a very powerful algorithm to analyze a set of nine measurements around the listening area and generate a correction filter. The correction is performed with so-called mixed-phase filters from Dirac Live.
The Dirac Live Calibration Tool corrects the measured amplitude response in the room to a specific "target curve". It normally has a rise in the bass and a slight drop in the treble.
The Dirac Live Calibration Tool also corrects the time domain of the loudspeaker. The next diagram shows a "perfect" impulse response of a loudspeaker, the measured impulse response and the impulse response after correction with Dirac Live. This impulse response correction improves stereo imaging and realism.
The miniDSP Flex Eight can be upgraded via this link with Stereo Dirac Live® to correct the entire frequency range (20~20kHz).
MiniDSP Flex versions
The miniDSP Flex is the 3rd generation of the popular series of compact 2-in, 4-out audio processors. The powerful floating point processor has been retained, but the I/O architecture has been redesigned to offer customers different input/output versions in this compact package. The first versions are analog single-endedinputs (RCA), balanced analog inputs (TRS) and digital outputs with excellent audiophile specification for your music enjoyment.
All versions have a range of digital inputs: USB audio, S/PDIF (RCA/optical) and Bluetooth (LDAC/aptX). An OLED display on the front and a volume control/encoder knob allow for easy control.
