    The MAX-KIT is a professional measurement microphone launched by JL Audio. As part of a sophisticated car audio measurement system, it has a variety of functions and features that make it both versatile and unique in its kind. With applications in diverse areas such as home audio, car audio, marine audio and professional audio, the MAX-KIT offers full integration of the VXi and MVi DSP controls to simplify your measurement setup. In addition, you get accurate and detailed measurements through a microphone array equipped with five microphones. The MAX-KIT ensures a quick and easy audio analytical experience.


    By fully integrating the VXi and MVi DSP controllers, MAX™ simplifies your measurement setup and allows you to perform measurements and DSP settings with one computer and one software application: TüN™ 4.0, which offers micro-automations that speed up equalization and channel delay adjustment.

Use cases with the MAX™ measuring system

    • Test, troubleshoot and analyze any audio system with full details on the three dimensions of audio: level, frequency and time... all in real time!
    • Optimize the tuning of car audio DSP products in real workshop environments. Simply connect the hardware, place the microphone array, start the TüN™ software and off you go!
    • Quickly test room modes for home theater and subwoofer placement and precisely adjust crossover and phase controls to ensure a seamless transition to the subwoofer.

    • Evaluate individual or multiple audio zones in a ship installation for frequency response and level.

    • Get the best possible measurements with 5-microphone averaging! MAX™ multiplexes up to five included microphones to perform individual FFT measurements of level and frequency response (RTA and spectrograph).

    • Perform dual FFT measurements of up to five simultaneous transfer functions with precise displays of magnitude (frequency response), phase, impulse response (delay) and coherence (noise immunity).

    • Each transfer function captures all audio data for real-time or comparative analysis.

    • Built-in test signal generator (pink and white noise, sine waves, square waves, etc.) and the ability to play WAV files.

Advantages in connection with VXi amplifiers

    • The automatic True Delay function adjusts the VXi/MVi channel delays at lightning speed and much more accurately than any other method.
    • The Autoset EQ function adjusts the VXi/MVi's parametric EQs to your chosen target in seconds. You can also place the VXi/MVi equalizer controls over the frequency response display to make precise manual EQ adjustments with real-time visual feedback.

Flexibility like never before

    • The measuring accuracy of MAX™ is comparable to that of professional testing devices sold for tens of thousands of dollars.

    • Wide range of inputs (up to five microphones, analog high-level signals up to 80 V, analog low-level signals up to 7 V, optical digital S/PDIF signals)

    • Multiple signal outputs (integrated DAC, which feeds analog line-level outputs and headphone outputs, as well as an optical digital output)

    • A built-in USB hub simplifies connection to computers and DSP amplifiers or other USB devices (not intended for charging devices).


Scope of delivery

    • The MAX-KIT contains the MAX™ hardware interface, five measurement microphones, a multi-microphone holder, mounting accessories, cables and power supplies, all packed in a lockable, waterproof hard case.

    • An optional, special probe kit for measuring loudspeaker impedance and electrical high voltage is available separately: "MAX-PROBE KIT" (90922)
