Description

The V90 DAC from Musical Fidelity is a DA converter that offers exceptional technical performance and value for money. It offers multiple digital inputs, including coaxial, optical and asynchronous USB connections, and uses a 32-bit DAC as well as 24-bit 192 kHz re-clocking and upsampling on all inputs. The high sound quality is achieved through low output impedance, extended linearity and excellent channel separation. With a low distortion of less than 0.004% and a signal-to-noise ratio of -117 dB, the V90 DAC offers precise audio performance. The sophisticated design and compact construction make it a solid choice for any audio enthusiast. With dimensions of 170 x 47 x 102 mm and a weight of 600 g, it is also space-saving and easy to integrate.

Our goal with the V90-DAC was to build the best DAC in the world without spending a fortune.
When you look at any high-end DAC, the first thing you notice is the massive case. As far as we know, however, this does not contribute to the technical or sonic performance. In most cases, if you take the casing off, you will find a complex layout that suggests performance. However, a closer analysis shows that the actual work of signal processing and data conversion is done by about a dozen components. The rest is decoration intended to suggest competence. These observations formed the basis for the V90 DAC concept.
We wanted to build the best DAC in the world, but sell it at a fair price. Using state-of-the-art design techniques and components, we set out to create a DAC that would deliver world-class technical performance in a modestly priced package.
The V90 DAC has a well-balanced set of measurements: Distortion, Noise, Linearity, Bandwidth and Phase, which are unmatched in their entirety by any product at any price.
If you look around, you may find one or two DACs that claim to perform slightly better than the V90-DAC in one area or another, but overall they will not outperform it. There are plenty of competitors shouting about their wonderful new version of the emperor's new clothes, but they offer little or nothing in the way of real performance to back up their claims. Just a lot of talk about subjective this and that, but it's all just a matter of opinion.
The V90 DAC is a fact. Its technical and sonic performance is second to none. There are better D/A converters out there, but they cost twenty or thirty times more.
By buying the V90-DAC, you are making a personal statement of independence from exaggerated claims.
