• The C7-350cm component midrange driver is designed to operate in a 3-way system with one woofer and one tweeter. Designed and engineered from the ground up, it offers exceptional transient response and excellent linearity, resulting in unsurpassed midrange clarity and natural reproduction.
• Distortions and non-linearities were minimized by optimizing the dynamic motor and suspension behaviour.
  
• Passive crossovers are not included with the C7 drivers as they are designed for active systems. Instead, JL recommends a high-quality tuning DSP, such as the JL Audio TwK™ 88 or D8, or a VXi amplifier with built-in DSP, with a dedicated amplifier channel for each C7 speaker in the system. Precise adjustment of equalization, delay and crossover filters ensures optimum performance in the vehicle.
  
• C7-350cm Construction notes:
  
• Cone and dust cap: Vacuum-molded, mineral-filled polypropylene material offers excellent damping and low mass. The cone body has a gently curved profile to optimize response. A concave dust cap further improves the high frequency response.
  
• Suspension construction: The moving assembly is suspended and damped via a linear profile spider formed from a Nomex®/poly-cotton blend and a positive roller rubber surround. Both together ensure optimum damping without prematurely restricting deflection.
  
• Motor design: The C7-350cm uses a high-density magnetic circuit with a high-quality neodymium magnet and a specially machined U-yoke motor topology. The motor magnets have been precisely optimized using advanced FEA tools to reduce distortion and ensure linear motor power over the entire power range of the driver.
  
• It uses a 36 mm (1.42 inch) diameter voice coil wound with copper-clad aluminum wire on a fiberglass voice coil former. The oversized voice coil provides extended power handling and minimizes thermal compression and distortion at higher listening levels.
  
• Chassis construction: A specially designed cast alloy basket is used, with thin spokes to maximize the rear open area.
