- Coaxial speaker system with 6.5-inch (165 mm) bass-midrange driver and 0.75-inch (19 mm) aluminum dome tweeter
- The C1 speakers deliver real substance and great audio performance in a format designed to be easily fitted behind factory grilles.
- To make installation easier, the C1-650x comes with multi-application adapter rings that allow easy installation in vehicles with oversized 6.5-inch and 6.75-inch speaker openings. Without the ring, the speaker will also fit into many "6-inch" speaker positions.
- The C1 bass-midrange drivers benefit from JL Audio's proprietary FEA modeling and experience in woofer development.
- At the heart of the C1-650x is a proprietary, stamped 6.50-inch (165 mm) steel frame and DMA-optimized motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-molded polypropylene cone is suspended with a rubber surround at the front and a carefully engineered flat Conex® spider on top of the voice coil to precisely control voice coil movement.
- These are the same features and materials normally found in much more expensive speakers.
- Equipped with a true edge-driven aluminum dome tweeter, the C1 speakers further set themselves apart from other speakers in their category with their superior clarity and definition in the high frequency range.
- The design of the tweeter has inherently excellent off-axis response and high frequency extension. It also benefits from the damping of a silk surround suspension and ferrofluid in the voice coil gap, as well as the superior strength of a neodymium magnetic circuit. A true 2nd order high-pass filter is used to further increase smoothness and improve power handling.
