Bass reflex tubes for bandpass enclosures and bass reflex enclosures

Bass reflex tubes - also known as aeroports - are required for bass reflex enclosures or bandpass enclosures. This is a special type of enclosure that has been specially developed for subwoofers and woofers. These are not closed, but have a bass reflex channel. This bass reflex channel directs the air between the inside and outside of the enclosure so that sound waves in low frequency ranges can be reproduced more strongly. The sound waves emitted backwards are used to amplify the bass. In this way, the air volume inside the loudspeaker enclosure interacts with the bass reflex channel to form a system capable of resonating. The result is reflected in a significantly higher sound pressure level in the lowest octaves, and the power bandwidth can increase by more than an octave.
