Frequently Asked Questions about LFB Citroen 52Pin

How does the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter from ACV work?

The LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter from ACV allows you to retain the original steering wheel remote control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket radio. The 52-pin Plug ensures compatibility with vehicles from the brands Citroen, Fiat, Opel, and Peugeot that use a specific OEM device. Functionality includes signals such as +12V ignition and reverse signal. It is important to check the functionality of all controls before final assembly to ensure full compatibility. The adapter supports radios from manufacturers like Alpine, Parrot, and Blaupunkt through appropriate connection cables.

Which vehicles are compatible with the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter?

The LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter is specifically designed for vehicles such as the Citroen Jumper (250) and the Citroen Relay (250) from the production years 05/2014 to 2023. Special caution is required for vehicles with the OEM devices Continental VP1/VP2, as these must meet specific requirements. It is important that the adapter is intended for connection in vehicles without Continental VP1 / VP2 / Daiichi OEM device. The signals provided depend on the existing onboard electronics and should be checked beforehand. This includes, among others, speed signals and lighting.

What signals does the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter support?

The LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter supports a variety of signals needed in the vehicle. This includes the +12V ignition signal at terminal 15, the +12V reverse signal, as well as the speed signal. It also ensures power through the +12V lighting signal at terminal 58. The ground connection is made via the green GND handbrake signal. The adapter is designed for specific requirements with a total output load capacity of 100 mA, with the power supply needing to come from the onboard electronics. All these functions ensure that the integral control systems are operated correctly.

What should I consider when installing the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter?

When installing the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter, it is important to check the compatibility of the plugs. The ACV adapter fits into the radio slot on the driver's side and requires the removal of the Daiichi wiring harness adapter in certain models. The connection to various radio manufacturers, such as Alpine, Bosch-Blaupunkt, Parrot, or Kenwood, is made through special connection cables provided by the adapter, such as the LFB cable 42s/acv. To ensure functionality after installation, it is critical to thoroughly test the vehicle settings and control functions before they are used on the road.

Is the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter compatible with common aftermarket radios?

Yes, the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter from ACV is compatible with a variety of aftermarket radios from different manufacturers. Supported brands include Alpine, Parrot, Bosch-Blaupunkt, and Kenwood, as well as niche brands like XZent and Zenec. The technical specifications state that specific connection cables must be used for different radios, e.g., 42ctalpinelead for Alpine or 42ctblaupunktlead for Bosch-Blaupunkt. The adapter takes into account all essentials for seamless integration with common systems and allows for the retention of vehicle control functions, as far as technically possible.

What technical parameters of the LFB Citroen 52Pin should be checked before purchase?

Before purchasing the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter, several technical parameters should be checked. This includes compatibility with the OEM device in use, for example, whether a Continental VP1/VP2 system is installed. The adapter provides signals such as the +12V ignition signal and the speed signal. It is important to note the maximum output load of 100 mA. In vehicles with different software or re-imported vehicles, there may be limitations in functionality. Additionally, the depicted plugs should be checked for visual and technical compatibility with the vehicle plugs.

What connection options does the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter offer?

The LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter offers a variety of connection options for different radio systems. It supports cable options such as the 42ctalpinelead for Alpine radios and the 42ctasteroidlead for Parrot systems. For connecting to Bosch-Blaupunkt devices, the 42ctblaupunktlead can be used. Kenwood, Pioneer, and XZent devices also have specific adapters: 42ctkenwoodlead, 42ctpioneerlead, and 42ctzeneclead. This modular design allows for flexible use of the adapter and supports a wide range of control systems. Individual cable adapters are tailored to the specifications of the respective devices.

What are the features of the signal adaptation in the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter?

The signal adaptation of the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter is specifically designed to ensure correct integration of control signals between the vehicle and the aftermarket radio. The signals are provided for connection to OEM devices from Citroen, Fiat, Opel, and Peugeot. One feature is the provision of the lighting signal at terminal 58 and the reverse signal in purple/white. With a wiring configuration for different manufacturers, signals can be specifically adapted. For example, the adapter allows for the mastering of speed signals and the use of handbrake signals to support advanced vehicle functions.

How is the electrical load capacity of the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter ensured?

The electrical load capacity of the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter is designed to meet the requirements of the onboard electronics. The adapter supports a maximum load capacity of the total outputs of 100 mA, while ensuring that the current demand of the relay connections is not exceeded. To ensure this, the feed points are equipped with resistance values – one relay requires a minimum coil resistance of 75 Ohms, while two relays require at least 150 Ohms. These technical specifications must be considered when selecting and installing the adapter to guarantee safe use.

What limitations exist when using the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter?

When using the LFB Citroen 52Pin Adapter, limitations may occur, especially with re-imported vehicles or those with different software. Such vehicles may be incompatible with the provided functions. Before installation, it is advisable to check the availability of signals such as +12V ignition and reverse signal, as well as the function of the steering control more closely. This adjustment is important to avoid subsequent incompatibilities. In the case of vehicles with Continental VP1/VP2 OEM devices, special attention should be paid, as these systems require specific calibrations and may affect functionality.
