Description
The Accuton C168-6-890 is a 16 cm bass-midrange speaker with a ceramic cone. A magnet system with neodymium magnets drives the speaker. The underhung voice coil remains completely in the magnetic field during linear operation. It has a rear-ventilated voice coil.
The center spider is mounted in a 4.5" voice coil, which allows for high linearity of the spider excursion.
As the surround is not glued to the dome but to the voice coil former, it does not interact with the dome and serves to limit excursion safely.
This design results in a superior bass-midrange driver that offers both high bandwidth and midrange performance as well as excellent, yet low excursion characteristics. The extremely low distortion ensures uncompromising resolution.
In summary, the Accuton C168-6-890 is the ideal choice for 2-way systems with unique bass performance and midrange quality.
Its innovative overhung motor does not cover the rear of the dome, eliminating the risk of reflections and energy storage.
