Resonance frequency: Why 33 Hz is ideal for sound quality in the vehicle

With a resonance frequency of 33 Hz, the Eton 7-212/C8/32 Hex Symphony II is ideally suited for reproducing low frequencies in the vehicle. A low resonance frequency means that the speaker operates particularly efficiently in the bass range without distortion at high volume levels. This value is crucial for the reproduction of powerful and precise bass lines, which are often demanded in the car audio sector. A higher resonance frequency value, on the other hand, could reduce bass performance, while a lower value is predominantly found only in larger speakers.

Nominal impedance and DC resistance: Optimization for car audio use

The Eton 7-212/C8/32 Hex Symphony II has a nominal impedance of 8 Ω and a DC resistance Re of 6.7 Ω. These values ensure that the speaker works efficiently with a variety of amplifiers, providing high-quality sound reproduction without overheating. A nominal impedance of 8 Ω allows flexibility in integrating into existing audio systems, as it is widely used in car audio systems. A higher resistance value could limit compatibility with common amplifiers, while a lower value would put more strain on the amplifier.

Effective Radiating Area and Moving Mass: Influence on Sound Dynamics

The effective radiating area SD is 137 cm² and the total moving mass, including the moving air mass, is 17.9 g. The combination of these values affects the sound dynamics and precision of the speaker. A large radiating area allows for a powerful sound image and a high sound pressure level, while the moderate moving mass promotes a quick response to sound signals. A smaller radiating area could potentially limit bass reproduction, while a larger mass could reduce the dynamics of the sound.

Power factor and deflection: Technical excellence for precise bass reproduction

With a BL force factor of 8.8 Tm and an electrical displacement Xmax of +/- 4.5 mm, the Eton 7-212/C8/32 Hex Symphony II offers excellent technical characteristics for precise bass reproduction. A higher BL value means more control over the diaphragm movement, which is essential for precise bass reproduction. The displacement capability allows for sufficient diaphragm movement to reproduce low frequencies without causing sound distortions.

Mechanical and electrical quality: Significance of the values for speaker performance

The mechanical quality factor Qms is 6.00, while the electrical quality factor Qes is specified as 0.31. These values describe the behavior of the speaker in the drive and suspension mechanism. A high mechanical quality factor indicates a well-damped diaphragm oscillation, which minimizes distortion and increases the longevity of the speaker. The low electrical quality factor improves the efficiency of the speaker, which is particularly desirable in mobile applications as it reduces power consumption and optimizes the amplifier load.

Overall quality and reference sound pressure level: Efficiency and performance in focus

The total quality Qts of the Eton 7-212/C8/32 Hex Symphony II is 0.29, while the average sound pressure level SPL is 89 dB. A low Qts value indicates that the speaker achieves more efficient bass reproduction in closed enclosures, making it ideal for compact car audio applications. The SPL value measures the sound pressure capability at a specific input power. With 89 dB, this speaker is among the more efficient models that provide high volume without significant power loss. A higher Qts value could impair efficiency in smaller enclosures.

Inductance and mechanical resistance: Influence on speed and precision

The inductance of the oscillating coil Le is 0.90 mH and the mechanical resistance RMS is 0.70 kg/s. These parameters play an important role in determining high-frequency efficiency and mechanical precision. A low inductance ensures improved impulse reproduction and reduces the tendency for high-frequency attenuation. The mechanical resistance affects the speaker's response behavior at low frequencies. Low resistance values improve the overall speed of the speaker's response and support precise reproduction.
