Notice on the disposal of used batteries

The following notice is directed at those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and do not resell them in the form delivered to them (end users):

1. Free take-back of used batteries

Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. You are legally obligated to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can drop off used batteries at a municipal collection point or at local retailers. We, as distributors of batteries, are also obligated to take back used batteries, with our take-back obligation limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our range. Therefore, you can either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us sufficiently stamped or drop them off free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address mentioned in the imprint.

2. Meaning of battery symbols

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out trash can (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be placed in household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury, more than 0.002 mass percent cadmium, or more than 0.004 mass percent lead, the chemical designation of the respective pollutant is located under the trash can symbol – "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" stands for lead, and "Hg" stands for mercury.

3. Vehicle batteries

When selling vehicle batteries (these are batteries intended for the starter, lighting, or ignition of vehicles), the following specifics apply:

According to § 10 BattG, we are obligated to charge end users a deposit of 7.50 euros including VAT for each vehicle battery if the end user does not return a used vehicle battery to us at the time of purchasing the new vehicle battery.

Upon purchasing a vehicle battery, you will receive a deposit voucher.

Due to hazardous goods regulations, shipping the old vehicle battery to us is not permitted.

You can return the old vehicle battery to us for a refund of the charged deposit at the following address:

Masori
Georg-Quincke-Straße 3
15236 Frankfurt (Oder)
Germany.

Alternatively, you can return the old vehicle battery at a return point established by the public waste disposal authority.

If the used vehicle battery is not returned directly to us, the receiving point is obligated to confirm the return without deposit refund in writing or electronically upon your request. In this case, you will be refunded the charged deposit by us, provided you present a written or electronic proof of return that is no older than two weeks at the time of presentation.
