Your advantages with Masori

Buy the Apocalypse DB-SA 252 from Deaf Bonce – impressive 1000 W RMS power online at masori.de

The Apocalypse DB-SA 252 subwoofer brings you power that you can buy affordably from Masori . With an RMS output of 1000 watts and a maximum output of 2000 watts, this 12-inch (30 cm) subwoofer offers tremendous sonic dynamics. The Masori Lowest Price Guarantee also ensures you get the best price. A 2.5-inch copper wire ensures even load distribution across the voice coil, resulting in increased robustness and performance. It owes its exceptional precision to a carefully crafted paper cone and a sturdy aluminum frame.

Technical excellence thanks to 2.5 inch copper voice coil

The 2.5-inch copper voice coil provides outstanding thermal and electrical handling capability to handle even the highest sound pressure levels. Copper also provides better heat dissipation and lower coil temperatures. A smaller voice coil would lose efficiency more quickly under maximum load, resulting in a reduced service life. For current car hi-fi applications, the size and material of the DB-SA 252 voice coil offer an optimal balance between performance and thermal stability.

High-quality components: ferrite magnet and aluminum frame

The high-performance subwoofer is equipped with a massive ferrite magnet, which creates strong magnetic fields, resulting in a high conversion of electrical energy into acoustic power. Combined with the robust aluminum frame, which reduces vibrations, the ferrite magnet significantly influences the sound quality. A weaker magnet would reduce control over the diaphragm, which could negatively impact the bass. The aluminum frame not only offers low weight but also high rigidity, ensuring the subwoofer remains securely mounted even in demanding driving situations.

Impedance variability for flexible installation options

You can choose between impedance options of 1+1 and 2+2 ohms, which provides flexibility in amplifier matching. A higher value results in lower current flow, which can increase efficiency in specific amplifier types. Common amplifiers are tuned to such flexible impedances to produce different sound signatures. Incorrect impedance matching could limit amplifier performance or cause long-term damage to the voice coil.

Frequency response and power characteristics in detail: Fs and Qts

The subwoofer impresses with a resonance frequency (Fs) of 32.10 / 32.57 Hz, making it ideal for low frequencies. Combined with a Qts value of 0.36 / 0.38, the DB-SA 252 offers outstanding performance in the lowest frequencies without compromising precision in the mids and highs. A lower Fs value would have resulted in more deep bass, but possibly at the expense of richness of detail, resulting in a compromise between depth and speed.

Breathtaking sound pressure levels with 84.70 / 85.00 dB SPL

With a sound pressure level of 84.70 and 85.00 dB, respectively, it offers high efficiency, producing high volumes even with low amplifier power. This puts the DB-SA 252 in competition with high-end models with similar values. A higher SPL value than 85 dB could generate even more volume, but would potentially compromise the sound, especially in the lower frequency range.

Xmax of +/- 15 mm for maximum membrane deflection

This subwoofer offers a linear excursion (Xmax) of +/- 15 mm, ensuring powerful output. This technical specification enables high pressure levels without distortion, which is particularly advantageous in large vehicles. Smaller Xmax values would produce higher distortion when the diaphragm has to handle large amplitudes—this value is therefore crucial for loud and dynamic music applications.

Low Vas of 24.72 / 24.91 L for more flexible installation concepts

The equivalent VAS volume is 24.72 / 24.91 liters, ensuring the subwoofer sounds excellent even in more compact enclosures. A larger VAS requires more cabinet volume, which is often impractical in a vehicle. The DB-SA 252 thus adapts better to different installation environments, whether in spare tire wells or DIY installations, without compromising the sound.

Installation specifications: Space-saving with 167.9 mm installation depth

The installation depth of 167.9 mm makes the DB-SA 252 a space-saving all-rounder in the 12-inch subwoofer category. With a cutout size of 279.3 mm and a gross weight of 12.05 kg, installation is easy in most vehicles. Alternative subwoofers with larger dimensions require significantly more complex installation designs, which is unrealistic for many applications. The Deaf Bonce Apocalypse DB-SA 252 not only offers impressive performance data, but also universal installation options in a wide variety of vehicle concepts.
