With an output power of up to 4 x 100 W RMS at 4 Ohms and 2 x 320 W RMS in bridged mode, the EA-MT4 delivers powerful sound with minimal distortion. The amplifier is characterized by its enormous frequency range of 10 Hz to 55 kHz and high channel separation for precise spatiality. Equipped with variable high-pass and low-pass filters, RCA and high-level inputs, as well as an auto-turn-on function, the EA-MT4 is versatile and easy to use in various car audio systems. The compact design with a massive aluminum die-cast heat sink ensures efficient heat dissipation and allows for use in tight spaces.

The Sound

The 4-channel amplifier EA-MT4 from the Monolith series by EMPhaseR not only offers powerful performance but also outstanding dynamics and exceptional signal fidelity. The very linear frequency response of 10 Hz – 55 kHz and the low distortion values allow the music signal to fully unfold without missing any detail. The high channel separation of > 60 dB ensures wonderful spatiality and precise placement of the musical events.

The performance

Measuring only 212 x 35 x 110 mm, the very compact EA-MT4 delivers high performance in a tight space. The exceptional heat sink design made of die-cast aluminum allows for significantly smaller dimensions while maintaining excellent temperature management. The optimized Class-D amplifier circuit, in conjunction with the massive heat sink, provides enormous power: the EA-MT4 features 4 x 100 W RMS at 4 Ohms and 2 x 320 W RMS bridged, making it a perfect power source for any car audio system.

The equipment

The EA-MT4 features an extensive crossover with 12 dB/oct. high-pass and low-pass filters. The filters can be adjusted over a very wide range of 20 – 4000 Hz (high-pass) and 50 – 5000 Hz (low-pass), allowing the EA-MT4 to be used for active systems as well. The filters can be selected individually and combined into a bandpass filter (HPF + LPF). All controls are hidden under the massive bar with the engraved EMPhaseR logo. Additional features include RCA and high-level inputs as well as an auto-turn-on function for connection to original radios without RCA output – this allows the 4-channel amplifier EA-MT4 to be easily combined with factory-installed radios.

Output power and its impact on the sound quality of the EA-MT4 from Emphaser

The EA-MT4's RMS output power is an impressive 4 x 100 W into 4 ohms and 4 x 150 W into 2 ohms. When bridged, it delivers 2 x 320 W RMS into 4 ohms. These power ratings are particularly useful for car audio systems, enabling powerful and detailed audio output. Compared to other amplifiers on the market, which often don't exceed 70 W per channel at 4 ohms, the EA-MT4 offers excellent output power, making it ideal for complex speaker systems. Higher power could lead to excessive heat generation, while lower power could compromise sound quality.

Frequency range from 10 Hz to 55 kHz on the Emphaser EA-MT4 and its meaning

The EA-MT4's extremely wide frequency range of 10 Hz to 55 kHz allows even the finest nuances in the audio signal to be heard. Unlike many amplifiers whose frequency range doesn't extend beyond 40 kHz, this amplifier gives users the advantage of faithfully reproducing even high-frequency signals. This range is more than sufficient to cover all humanly audible frequencies and provides additional headroom for the precise reproduction of even subtle harmonics, significantly enhancing musical enjoyment. A lower frequency range could limit the audio output and obscure sound details.

Channel separation of over 60 dB and its impact on the soundstage of the EA-MT4

Channel separation of over 60 dB in the EA-MT4 ensures that the left and right channel signals remain isolated, resulting in an impressive and precise soundstage. This performance exceeds the average amplifier, which typically offers around 50 dB of channel separation. Better channel separation results in more clearly separated stereo channels and provides a more accurate spatial experience. Poorer channel separation would result in the channels blending together, which could lead to a loss of acoustic resolution and a flattening of the soundstage.

Integrated high- and low-pass filters in the Emphaser 4-channel amplifier EA-MT4

The EA-MT4 features integrated variable high- and low-pass filters. The high-pass filter is adjustable from 20 to 4000 Hz, while the low-pass filter can be adjusted from 50 to 5000 Hz. These highly configurable filters allow for precise adjustment of the audio output and allow integration into active systems. This is ideal for users who want to fine-tune their sound design and offers a significant advantage over the limited adjustability of many other amplifiers, whose filters typically offer a limited frequency range. A less variable filter could significantly limit the scope for fine-tuning.

Aluminum heatsink and its impact on the performance of the EA-MT4

The EA-MT4's massive die-cast aluminum heatsink ensures effective heat dissipation, ensuring consistently high performance. This design is crucial for compact amplifiers, as it prevents overheating and facilitates the continuous flow of sound. Compared to simpler cooling solutions in less expensive amplifiers, the die-cast aluminum heatsink offers greater thermal stability, significantly benefiting reliability and longevity. Ineffective cooling technology could lead to a drop in performance and possible device failure.

High input flexibility: RCA and high-level inputs with auto-turn-on function on the EA-MT4

The EA-MT4 features a comprehensive range of connections, including RCA and high-level inputs. It also offers an auto-turn-on function, which simplifies installation in factory radios without RCA outputs. This feature significantly increases the amplifier's compatibility and flexibility. Compared to amplifiers without an auto-turn-on function, it saves installation time and complicated conversions. The lack of high-level inputs could significantly limit the connection to factory radios and require additional converters.

Signal-to-noise ratio and attenuation factor of the EA-MT4 from Emphaser

The signal-to-noise ratio of over 90 dB ensures the EA-MT4 delivers clear sound without audible noise. A damping factor of over 400 guarantees controlled bass and precise dynamics. Compared to devices with a damping factor below 200 and a low signal-to-noise ratio, the EA-MT4 delivers impressively pure sound. A lower signal-to-noise ratio could introduce distracting background noise into the audio output, and insufficient damping could make the bass sound muddy and less defined.

Variable input sensitivity of the EA-MT4 from Emphaser and its meaning

The EA-MT4's variable input sensitivity ranges from 0.3 to 10 V, providing a wide range for different sources. This flexibility is ideal for universal use in diverse car audio systems, as it allows for adjustment to the output levels of different devices. In comparison, many amplifiers offer only limited sensitivity, which limits compatibility with higher output frequency source devices. A smaller range could complicate integration into existing systems and cause adjustment problems.

Dimensions and benefits of the compact design of the EA-MT4 from Emphaser

With its compact dimensions of 212 x 35 x 110 mm, the EA-MT4 is particularly space-saving and ideal for use in confined spaces. This compact design allows for flexible installation in virtually any vehicle. Compared to larger models, which are often over 300 mm long and therefore create space constraints, this amplifier is particularly advantageous for users with limited space. Larger dimensions could significantly limit installation options, especially in smaller vehicles. Visit our on-site installation service in Frankfurt (Oder) .
