- At the heart of the C1-690tx is a proprietary 6 x 9 inch (150 x 230 mm) stamped oval steel frame and a DMA-optimized motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-molded polypropylene cone is suspended with a rubber surround at the front and a carefully engineered, low-profile Conex® spider at the top of the voice coil to precisely control movement and prevent shock between the voice coil and backplate.

- Equipped with two true edge-driven aluminum dome tweeters, the C1-690tx stands out from other speakers in its category with its superior clarity and separation in the high frequency range.
- The design of each tweeter inherently provides excellent off-axis response and extension of the high frequency response. Both tweeters also benefit from the damping of the silk surround suspension and ferrofluid in the voice coil gaps, as well as the superior strength of the neodymium magnets. A true mixed-order crossover filter network is used to further enhance smoothness and improve power handling.
