The  Rockford Fosgate Punch PBR400x4D 4-channel amplifier uses Rockford Fosgate's patented BRT (Boosted Rail Technology) for an extremely efficient design that does not require a switching power supply to produce the rated power. This allows the enclosure to be much smaller than conventional amplifiers. The BRT also features a variable high-level DC offset turn-on circuit for easy integration into any OEM system.
