6-channel DSP amplifier from Gladen with converterless high-speed PWM power amplifiers

The Mosconi PICO 6|8 DSP V2 from Gladen is a 6-channel DSP amplifier featuring converterless high-speed PWM power stages. This technology virtually eliminates the noise floor and reduces total harmonic distortion (THD+N) to ~0.02% at 1 W of power. Thanks to a carrier frequency of over 2 MHz, it offers one of the fastest components currently on the market. These features contribute significantly to the clarity and detail of the audio signal by increasing the accuracy of the sound. A lower carrier frequency would increase the risk of distortion, while an even higher frequency would be impractical with current technology.

Comprehensive input and output flexibility with digital and analog options

With six analog inputs capable of handling 30 V peak-to-peak and digital input options such as SP-Dif and Coax, the Mosconi PICO 6|8 DSP V2 offers enormous flexibility in terms of system design. These inputs support sampling rates from 8 kHz to 96 kHz. This range of input options allows the amplifier to be integrated into a wide variety of audio systems without the need for additional conversion devices. Reducing the maximum input voltage could limit flexibility and lead to clipping, while higher sampling rates could offer even finer audio quality, which is currently rare in the car hi-fi sector.

Highly efficient power output for a variety of car audio setups

This amplifier offers impressive power output with 4 x 50 watts into 4 ohms for channels 1 to 4 and 2 x 80 watts into 4 ohms for channels 5 and 6. For setups targeting bridged applications, the 210 watts with bridged channels 5 and 6 represent a powerful solution. This offers excellent options, especially for active and semi-active systems, as well as classic front + rear + subwoofer configurations. A reduced output could dampen the sound and dynamics, while an increase could exceed the speaker's power handling capacity in a closed enclosure.

Full control through advanced DSP processing and software-assisted configuration

Integrated into the Mosconi PICO 6|8 DSP V2 is a DSP with 912 MHz processing power and a 32-bit audio port, offering 64-bit Core Double Precision and 56-bit filter processing. With a sample rate of 96 kHz and extensive analysis tools, this technology underscores the outstanding precision in sound processing. This demonstrates that high DSP performance is an essential element for fine-tuning car audio systems. Lower processing power would reduce the effectiveness of the filter programs and thus negatively impact playback quality.

Innovative software tools for optimal routing and extensive EQ options

The amplifier comes with flexible software that provides a 3 x 9-band parametric input EQ for de-equalizing, a flexible mixer for signal routing, and up to 10 bands of group EQ. These options ensure precise signal conditioning and phase control, capable of adjusting even the finest sonic details, which is crucial for complex audio systems. Reducing the number of bands could significantly compromise the subtlety and range of sound modulation.

Perfect OEM integration with outstanding efficiency and compact design

Particularly noteworthy is the amplifier's efficiency of over 80%, which makes it not only powerful but also thermally inert, making it ideal for installation in tight spaces such as behind panels. Thanks to its very small size of just 150 x 160 x 46 mm and a weight of 1150 grams, installation is possible even in the most compact environments without significant heat generation problems. Larger dimensions or greater weight could significantly limit installation space and impede efficient heat dissipation.

Compatibility and connectivity for a variety of audio sources

The amplifier's versatility is underscored by its connectivity options, such as the Bluetooth port and MOLEX® connectors. The digital Bluetooth port supports advanced audio sources with sampling rates up to 384 kHz, allowing flexible input for virtually all modern applications. This makes it easier to design your optimal setup with you during on-site installation in Frankfurt (Oder) , and allows even the most demanding sources to be integrated directly and without delay into the system. Expanding Bluetooth connectivity allows for seamless integration of future technologies, something every audio enthusiast will appreciate.

Signal quality through optimally designed input and output conditioning

The input side features eight switchable high- and low-level analog inputs, operating with Class SB compatibility from 2-30V and featuring an auto-on function when a high-level signal is detected. This ensures that the amplifier can be seamlessly integrated into a wide variety of audio systems without the need for additional control measures. Reducing this flexibility could complicate easy integration into different audio setups and compromise overall performance. The expert support FAQ & Help section also helps ensure optimal utilization of these capabilities.

Precision tools for sound control through comprehensive phase and delay functions

One of the outstanding advantages of this amplifier is its precise control over delays and phase shifts. With 8 x speaker delays from 0 – 12 ms and a flexible phase control calculation tool, audio signals can be perfectly aligned in the room and adapted to the listening behavior. This is particularly important for minimizing spatial separation and interference. Without these options, the sound imaging in demanding setups would be less usable and the detailed imaging in the room would be severely compromised. The Audio Blog offers many insights for a deeper dive into the specialization of sound control.
