Description
If you want to replace your factory radio with an aftermarket radio, you may need an active system adapter to maintain the factory-installed sound system.
This enables the connection of aftermarket radios to the vehicle's own active system and retains the OEM amplifier and the connected speakers by adapting, adjusting or converting the output signals of the signal source to the signal input of the OEM amplifier.
Depending on the vehicle and the OEM active system installed, however, various functions such as faders or sound and subwoofer settings may be omitted.
In individual cases, the OEM system and the aftermarket radio may cause increased noise or switch-on and switch-off noises.
Before final installation of the active system adapter, you should check the functions of your vehicle and the sound system to ensure that everything is working properly.
