Phoenix Gold began in 1985 as an accessory brand that manufactured cables and other accessories for mobile and home audio applications. The first products included VHS tape rewinders, VHS player covers, car audio power cables, car audio connection cables, and other car audio installation accessories.

The first line of mobile amplifiers was introduced around 1990 with the models MS-250 and MS-2125. These amplifiers had circuit boards that were gold-plated with 24 karat, which earned the company a reputation for producing high-quality products. Shortly thereafter, the MQ-430 was launched, followed by the introduction of the M series (M25) and all other amplifiers in the MS and M series, which ensured that we remained a topic of conversation in the audio world.
