Thesis HV venti by Audison

Discover the "Thesis HV venti," a 2-channel amplifier that will revolutionize the heart of your sound system. Manufactured by Audison, a leader in audio technology, this amplifier sets new standards in power and sound quality. With its uncompromising pursuit of maximum performance and a unique dual-mono design, the HV venti stands out from conventional amplifiers. Resistant to integrated circuits, it allows the sound carriers to operate at higher power and voltages for an unbeatable listening experience.

DUAL-MONO DESIGN

Four Synchro-PWM power supplies enable very fast transient response and create a dual-mono configuration.

MOSFET-BJT HYBRID CONFIGURATION

The HV venti uses a unique output stage topology with discrete IGBTs, consisting of two Hitachi DMOS devices driving two pairs of complementary Sanken Power BJTs, each rated for 30 A peak current and 200 W power dissipation.

CLASS A PREAMPLIFIER AND DRIVER

It consists of two groups, the front-end preamplifier and the control unit. The entire stage is symmetrical up to the driver outputs. The supply voltage is 90 V and is specific to this stage and the two separate channels. The separate 150 V power supply is thermally stabilized and biased in Class A. The input is symmetrical with the first stage, a complementary JFET differential, and the second stage, a complementary BJT differential. The voltage amplifier is a cascode amplifier with a buffer to drive the output stage.

Frequently Asked Questions about Thesis HV venti

How does the dual-mono construction work in the Thesis HV venti Amplifier?

The dual-mono construction in the Thesis HV venti features four synchro-PWM power supplies that enable extremely fast transient response. This design separates the two audio channels, minimizing interference between them. Especially when reproducing complex audio signals, this results in clear and precise sounds. The separate power supply for each channel leads to improved stability and performance. This technology offers a significant advantage over conventional amplifiers by providing fine detail resolution and dynamics when playing music. If you value flawless stereo sound, this setup is ideal.

What power ratings does the Thesis HV venti provide at 2 Ohm and 4 Ohm?

The Thesis HV venti Amplifier from Audison delivers impressive power at a voltage of 14.4 VDC. At 4 Ohm, it offers an output power of 400 W per channel in a 2-channel operation. When you reduce the impedance to 2 Ohm, the power significantly increases to 800 W per channel. For operation in mono mode, it delivers 900 W at 4 Ohm. This flexibility in power delivery allows the amplifier to be adapted to a variety of speaker configurations and optimizes sound quality for different requirements. An optimal choice for lovers of powerful sound experiences.

What features does the preamplifier of the Thesis HV venti offer?

The preamplifier of the Thesis HV venti is built in a Class A configuration and offers a symmetrical circuit up to the driver outputs. It consists of a front-end preamplifier and a control unit with a specific supply voltage of 90 V. The separate 150 V power supply ensures that the unit is thermally stabilized. The input is equipped with a complementary JFET differential, while the voltage amplifier is provided with a cascode amplifier and a buffer for the output stage. This design contributes to uniform signal processing and minimizes distortion in audio playback.

What input options does the Audison Thesis HV venti offer?

The Thesis HV venti Amplifier is equipped with various input options to adapt to different audio sources. It features both high-level and low-level inputs to enable seamless integration into existing audio systems. The input sensitivity can be adjusted for high-level signals from 0.25 VRMS to 1.6 VRMS and for low-level signals from 1 VRMS to 7 VRMS. This flexibility allows the amplifier to be used with a variety of sources and to customize sound quality. The symmetrical input architecture ensures noise suppression and optimizes signal purity.

How does the HV venti ensure a low distortion rate at high power?

The Thesis HV venti is equipped with an advanced output stage topology based on a MOSFET-BJT hybrid configuration. This unique design uses discrete IGBTs and Sanken power BJTs, which together ensure excellent power delivery. With a distortion rate of less than 0.05% at 100 Hz and 70% rated power, the amplifier is capable of reproducing sound accurately and cleanly even at high power outputs. This low distortion is particularly beneficial for demanding musical pieces where fidelity to all audio details is crucial.

What role does the MOSFET-BJT hybrid configuration play in the Thesis HV venti?

The MOSFET-BJT hybrid configuration in the Thesis HV venti combines the advantages of MOSFET and BJT technologies to provide strong performance and efficiency. The output stage uses discrete IGBTs to control and drive power BJTs with high current handling and power loss. This architecture allows peak currents of 30 A and power losses up to 200 W, making the amplifier extremely durable and robust. The hybrid topology ensures excellent audio quality and delivers a powerful and clear sound image. This technology is crucial for the amplifier's exceptional sound dynamics and detail accuracy.

What crossover functions does the Audison Thesis HV venti offer?

The Audison Thesis HV venti is equipped with high-quality crossover modules that provide versatile filter options. The crossovers allow adjustments in high-pass and low-pass mode: In stereo mode, the amplifier offers high-pass and low-pass filters at frequencies from 45 Hz to 80 Hz with a 12 dB/octave slope. In mono operation, a low-pass filter is also available at frequencies from 45 Hz to 80 Hz, but with a 24 dB/octave slope. These versatile crossovers enable precise control of sound quality and ensure optimal adaptation to the connected speakers.

How does the Thesis HV venti optimize sound quality with its symmetrical circuit?

The Thesis HV venti Amplifier from Audison uses a fully symmetrical input circuit that helps minimize noise and interference. This architecture ensures that the signals from both channels are processed identically, resulting in higher sound purity. In audio technology, a symmetrical circuit is advantageous as it reduces external interference and improves signal quality. This is particularly important when it comes to accurately reproducing the finest acoustic details and elevating the audio experience to a new level. The symmetrical circuit directly contributes to the high-fidelity playback of the HV venti.

What are the dimensions of the Thesis HV venti and what should be considered during installation?

The exact dimensions of the Audison Thesis HV venti are 510 mm in length, 85 mm in height, and 280 mm in width. When installing the amplifier, these measurements should be taken into account to ensure that it can be securely mounted in the vehicle or at the desired location. At the same time, it is important to leave enough space for cooling, as the amplifier generates a lot of heat at high power levels. Inadequate ventilation can limit performance and shorten the lifespan of the amplifier. Therefore, the right installation location should be well thought out and prepared.

How do the Synchro-PWM power supplies affect the performance of the Thesis HV venti?

The four Synchro-PWM power supplies in the Thesis HV venti significantly enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of the amplifier. These power supplies are designed to ensure a stable voltage supply and enable fast impulse responses. This leads to better dynamic performance and precise signal control, even with rapid transients in the music. This technology minimizes distortion and preserves signal integrity while maintaining high efficiency. This is crucial for the flawless operation of the amplifier, especially when reproducing complex and energy-intensive musical pieces that require powerful and accurate amplification.
