The ZXT woofer series, to which the Hifonics ZEUS EXTREME ZXT15D2 15" (38cm) subwoofer belongs, areequipped with vertical elements made of "Reinforced Structure Array" surrounds and also give an idea of how much excursion the carbon-reinforced cones can achieve. These remain as hard as a rock and are even comparatively light thanks to the triple sandwich structure. To ensure that the diaphragms can make optimum use of the stroke, they are guided as if on rails by triple Nomex spiders. This ensures that the cones do not tilt even at extreme power levels.
The "Reinforced Structure Array" surrounds, newly developed for the ZXT woofers and reinforced with vertical elements, also give an idea of how much excursion the carbon-reinforced cones can achieve. These remain as hard as a rock and are even comparatively light thanks to the triple sandwich structure. To ensure that the cones can make optimum use of the stroke, they are guided by triple Nomex spiders as if on rails. This ensures that the cones do not tilt even at extreme power levels.
The Zeus subwoofers are also ideally equipped thermally: The 10-inch woofer, for example, already uses 76 mm voice coils, and from the 12-inch model upwards even gigantic 100 mm voice coils. With an incredible 58 mm winding height, the cones can thus achieve a linear excursion of +/- 23 mm. The voice coil is made of special pi-CCAR flat wire, which is an aluminum flat wire with a copper coating that saves weight and is also heat-resistant up to 240 degrees. All in all, these are ingredients that impressively demonstrate the exceptional quality of the woofers. The ZEUS EXTREME ZXT series is a must-have for anyone looking for the ultimate level woofers.
