The Sundown Audio X15 v3 from the Xv3 Series is the first subwoofer model to utilize Sundown Audio's "Ultra-High Excursion" suspension and frame designs. The 10, 12, 15 and 18" models are equipped with specially manufactured and patented frames that allow for a giant spider.
Sundown Audio introduces the Sundown Audio X15 v3, a new platform with a huge 250mm diameter triple stacked motor structure that allows for an extreme X-Mech of just over 100mm. This motor drives a 4-layer, 3″ diameter CCAW coil wound on a thick aluminum bobbin with incredible excursion. In the v3 version, the coil has been upgraded to a new "black coil design" that dissipates significantly more heat than the X v2 series coil.
The Xv3 series subwoofers are designed for the LOWEST possible free frequencies in the smallest possible enclosure, while maintaining extremely low distortion.
New features of the Xv3 series compared to the Xv2 series:
- Load capacity increased from 2000 watts RMS to 2500 watts RMS.
- Higher XMAX of 30mm linear per direction
- Larger magnet and therefore significantly increased BL
- New voice coil of the Zv5 series
