The Hifonics Colossus CX15D2 is a 15-inch (38 cm) Subwoofer with a 100 mm dual voice coil and triple magnet (3 x 285 ounces, 3 x 8.08 kg). The construction includes a double-stitched surround, a dual-Nomex spider with double centering, sewn-in leads, a hand-crafted paper cone, and a reinforced aluminum dust cap. The aluminum die-cast basket and chrome pole plate are part of the mechanical design. The coils use aluminum-copper wire with temperature resistance up to 220°. The linear excursion is X-Max +/-25 mm. The power ratings are 4500 W RMS and 9000 W Max at 2 + 2 Ohm. Acoustic parameters: Fs 34 Hz, Qts 0.39, Vas 59 L, and 89 dB. The diameter is 358 mm; another measurement is 260 mm. In an appropriate enclosure, up to 154 dB sound pressure is specified.
