Frequently Asked Questions about Direction D68SP

What technology is used in the Direction D68SP by ESX?

The Direction D68SP by ESX utilizes advanced technology to deliver an outstanding sound experience. Central to this is the use of AKM Velvet Sound™ converters combined with the 32 Bit/295 MHz DSP chips from Analog Devices™. This combination allows for precise digital sound processing. The DSP chips can process Full HD audio with a sampling rate of 96 kHz, enabling natural and detailed audio playback. Additionally, the optional Bluetooth 5.0 extension offers extra convenience and flexibility for wireless audio integration.

What input and output options does the Direction D68SP DSP have?

The Direction D68SP offers various input and output options. It features 6 balanced RCA inputs and 6 high-level inputs that can be used via Molex connectors. An optical S/PDIF input with 192 kHz and 24 Bit ensures high-quality digital connections. For control and software integration, there is a USB Type B port for PC software and an RJ45 port for remote control. On the output side, there are 8 RCA outputs available, which can deliver a signal at 6 V RMS, providing diverse audio management options.

How does the sound processor of the Direction D68SP work?

The sound processor of the Direction D68SP uses AKM Velvet Sound™ A/D and D/A converters with 32 Bit resolution to ensure precise audio conversion. The 96 kHz signal conversion provides Full HD audio playback. Additionally, the DSP offers granular control of up to 248 output EQs and 120 input EQs with PEQ/HSLF/LSLF settings. Phase shifts and delay corrections can be adjusted in fine increments of 0.01 ms over a range of 0 ~ 20 ms. These parameters allow for customization to specific acoustic environments and user preferences.

What are the dimensions of the Direction D68SP and what should you consider during installation?

The Direction D68SP is compactly designed with dimensions of 105 x 40 x 185 mm. When installing, ensure there is enough space for ventilation and wiring to avoid overheating and signal-related interference. The correct installation location may vary depending on the vehicle, but generally, an accessible spot with stable mounting should be chosen. Additionally, connection options such as RCA/Cinch wiring and the use of the optional BT-D module for Bluetooth are crucial to utilize the full range of functions.

What specific customization features does the software of the Direction D68SP offer?

The PC software developed specifically for the Direction D68SP by ESX allows for a variety of settings and adjustments. You can customize the sound signature with precise EQ parameters up to 248 output and 120 input EQs. The software provides you with the ability to set high-pass, low-pass, and band-pass filters at 6-48 dB and allows sound waves to be phase-aligned. Additionally, delays can be adjusted in small increments of 0.01 ms to optimally tune the sound in the vehicle. These options provide you with all the tools to optimize the sound of the entire audio system.

How do the total harmonic distortion and signal-to-noise ratio affect the audio performance of the Direction D68SP?

Total harmonic distortion and signal-to-noise ratio are crucial for sound quality.
