Internal engine construction:
To drive a high moving mass, a subwoofer requires a powerful motor. An additional advantage of the giant coil of the STW-350F is that Peerless was able to incorporate a ferrite motor into the voice coil. Conventional motor structures with the magnet outside the motor lose 50% of their energy in stray fields, while a magnet on the inside of the voice coil has a 90% or better magnetic utilization.
Long coil + long gap = high deflection:
The STW-350F has a remarkably long magnetic gap of 36 mm with a 57 mm long voice coil. Thanks to such extreme dimensions and a well-controlled magnetic field, this driver is capable of achieving a displacement of 45.5 mm before a significant loss of motor strength (Bl) occurs. In other words, this driver can achieve 90 mm (3.5") displacement from peak to peak!

Front and rear mounting points:
Due to the weight and the extreme force that the STW-350F can withstand, rear mounting points have been provided on the back of the frame at Tymphany. By attaching the back of the frame to a brace in a housing, the baffle is firmly connected to the side walls, thereby increasing the stiffness of the housing while also supporting the overall weight of the STW-350F. These threaded holes accommodate M6 x 30 screws.
