The ZEUS Series to which the Hifonics ZEUS ZXM-3 3" (8cm) midrange speakers belong, are available in HiFonics program for many years for power and excellent sound. For the first time, in addition to composite systems and coaxes, individual components such as high-quality cast aluminum midrange and bass speakers are now available, so that 3-way combinations are possible. The woofer in the composite set (separately available as ZX6.2W) comes with  a cast aluminum basket and an aluminum phase plug. The sandwich membrane consists of a triple glass fiber composite material, which is particularly light but still very stable. The frequency response is extremely linear and hardly requires any corrections through "crossover tricks". The powerful magnetic drive weighing 14 ounces, which drives a very large voice coil of 30.5 mm, provides a lot of power. Overall, this enables a mechanical stroke of up to +/- 11 mm. The 25 mm fabric neodymium tweeter ZX6.2T with coupling volume (resonance frequency 700 Hz), also available separately, covers a particularly large frequency range up to well over 24 kHz in a very linear manner.

The highlight of the 2-way composite set, however, is that it is already prepared for 3-way operation: This means that the optional 7.5 cm ZXM3 midrange speaker can be connected to the ZXO-2 crossover without much effort: simply switch the jumpers in the crossover to 3-way, connect the midrange speaker with a bandpass crossover; done. The midrange speaker also shines with excellent components such as a cast aluminum basket, an aluminum membrane, a large 25 mm voice coil as well as an extra rear-ventilated centering spider and powerful neodymium drive.
