The PTT6.5W08 -NFA-01 is a 6.5" (16.5cm) mid-woofer from Purifi Audio. This mid-woofer stands out for its groundbreaking technology and improved efficiency thanks to a reduced excursion limit. Designed and manufactured in Denmark, it has a unique driver design and consists of a proprietary fiber mix. Special features include low distortion across the entire excursion range, high power handling and great mid-range performance. In addition, the mid-woofer is equipped with PURIFI's Natural Surround, which helps reduce resonances and distortion.

: Why is the bead oddly shaped?

A

  This is the PURIFI Natural Surround. Conventional surrounds create distortion when they deform. The shape of the Natural Surround reduces resonance and distortion at the diaphragm edges. It may look strange, but here form follows function. A closer look reveals that the surround actually represents a complex sound wave. We are told that the Natural Surround is also referred to as "wormy" by those in the know.
