Frequently Asked Questions about QS-FOUR

What are the performance features of the QS-FOUR Amplifier?

The QS-FOUR from ESX is a 4-channel Class D Nano Digital Amplifier that offers remarkable performance features. With an RMS power of 4 x 35/45/60 Watts at 4/3/2 Ohms, it is versatile. Bridged, it reaches 2 x 120 Watts at 4 Ohms. The low total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) at 5W/RMS under 0.007% ensures minimal distortion and exceptional sound quality. The efficiency is impressively high, with an efficiency rating of up to 90%. These performance characteristics make the QS-FOUR a top choice for discerning audio enthusiasts who value both power and sound fidelity.

How compact is the QS-FOUR Amplifier?

The QS-FOUR Amplifier from ESX, with its ultra-compact dimensions of just 90 x 35 x 80 mm, is ideal for tight spaces. This small size makes it one of the most flexible and easy-to-install amplifiers in its class, without sacrificing performance. Especially in vehicles with limited space, it offers an excellent solution to enhance audio quality without the need for extensive modifications. Its compactness does not limit its performance, making it a good choice for high-quality, space-saving audio upgrades.

What cooling technology does the QS-FOUR use?

The QS-FOUR from ESX uses a heavy cast aluminum heat sink that provides optimal cooling properties. This heat sink is specifically designed to effectively dissipate the heat generated during the operation of the amplifier, which increases the reliability and longevity of the device. The effective cooling allows for the sustained use of the amplifier's high power without overheating. This is particularly important for long listening sessions or at high volumes to maintain the amplifier's performance and avoid overheating.

What protection mechanisms are integrated into the QS-FOUR?

The QS-FOUR from ESX is equipped with an Error Protection System (EPS®) in its high-level inputs. This system protects the Amplifier from overload and malfunctions by detecting and blocking potentially harmful interference signals. This is particularly useful for ensuring the longevity of the device and maintaining sound quality. Additionally, the Amplifier is start/stop ready, which facilitates its integration into modern vehicles and ensures protection even with fluctuating power supply, as often occurs in cars with start-stop systems.

How does the QS-FOUR support HD Audio?

The QS-FOUR from ESX is perfectly suited for HD Audio, thanks to its wide frequency range of 10 Hz to 60 kHz. This specification makes it ideal for fully and accurately reproducing high-resolution audio sources. The low distortion factor and high efficiency of the Amplifier further contribute to the superior sound quality. If you are a true audiophile, you will appreciate the QS-FOUR's ability to reproduce every nuance in your favorite music pieces, providing an intense and immersive sound experience that typical Amplifiers in this class often cannot offer.

How easy is the installation of the QS-FOUR?

The installation of the QS-FOUR is relatively straightforward thanks to its compact dimensions of just 90 x 35 x 80 mm. The Amplifier is designed to fit in tight spaces within the vehicle. This, combined with the RCA inputs (via cable connectors) and the stereo RCA output for active Subwoofers, allows for flexible integration into existing audio systems. The automatic power-on feature further simplifies handling by automatically activating the Amplifier as soon as an audio signal is detected, enabling seamless installation, especially in modern vehicles.

What control options does the QS-FOUR offer?

The QS-FOUR offers comprehensive control options through its variable HPF/LPF crossovers for both front and rear. These high-pass (HPF) and low-pass filters (LPF) are switchable and set at 80 Hz, allowing for individual sound customization to meet your specific needs. This is particularly important for optimizing speaker performance and extracting the best possible sound quality from your system. This adaptability is a key advantage for users seeking a listening experience tailored to their listening habits.

What features does the QS-FOUR Amplifier have regarding the audio inputs?

The QS-FOUR is equipped with high-level inputs with Error Protection System (EPS®) as well as RCA inputs via cable connectors. This variety of audio inputs offers you flexibility in connecting to different sources and ensures clean sound. The Error Protection System protects against harmful interference. The optional stereo RCA output also allows for easy connection to active Subwoofers, enabling a seamless expansion of your audio system. These connectivity features make the QS-FOUR a versatile solution for various audio applications in the vehicle.

Why is the QS-FOUR start/stop capable?

The start/stop-ready function of the QS-FOUR from ESX ensures that the amplifier can be easily integrated into modern vehicles equipped with a start-stop system. This feature is crucial as it ensures the operation of the amplifier despite temporary power interruptions when the vehicle stops. In these car systems, it is often the case that voltage fluctuations affect the function of electronics. However, the QS-FOUR offers the reliability and compatibility to meet these challenges, ensuring uninterrupted and reliable audio performance.

How efficient is the QS-FOUR Amplifier?

The QS-FOUR operates with an impressive efficiency of up to 90%, making it one of the most efficient amplifiers in its class. The Class D amplifier technology used in this model allows for extremely low-loss conversion of electrical energy into acoustic power. This high efficiency means that more of the supplied energy is converted into sound power rather than being lost as heat. For users, this translates to better sound quality and a longer lifespan of the components, as less heat-induced wear occurs.
