EM-FDF1 by Emphaser
The EM-FDF1 speaker set from Emphaser, specially designed for Ford models, offers a high-quality solution for car enthusiasts. The 6.5-inch 2-way component system features aluminum cone woofers and 25 mm fabric dome tweeters, delivering detailed and brilliant sound. Equipped with a powerful magnetic drive and vehicle-specific connectors, the set ensures easy installation and optimal performance. The 12 dB/12 dB/octave crossover provides smooth sound transitions and true hi-fi sound, without the need for an additional subwoofer. Ideal for Ford Transit and Tourneo models, the EM-FDF1 combines precision and dynamics in a compact package.
The Woofer
The core element of the speaker set is the woofers with Cambridge surround in the “M” design and an aluminum diaphragm – the high sound conductivity and stability of aluminum form the basis for precise music reproduction and excellent dynamics. The strength of the diaphragm material is chosen to provide the stability for impressive bass attacks, as well as the necessary lightness for precise midrange.
Thanks to the large magnetic drive with Faraday copper ring and the low overall weight of the moving unit, the Emphaser speaker system achieves high efficiency and delivers impressive performance—even when the EM-FDF1 is operated with just a 'standard' radio.
The Tweeter
The 25 mm fabric dome tweeters impress with their brilliance and spatial reproduction and simply snap into the original mounts. The diaphragm geometry offers a uniform directivity pattern for excellent sound in the original installation location. Besides the low weight of diaphragm, surround, and voice coil, the deliberate omission of ferrofluid is mainly responsible for the tweeter’s lively, spatial, and distortion-free performance.
The Crossover
The 12 dB/12 dB/oct. crossover for the woofer ensures a particularly harmonious frequency response down to the bass range; a separate subwoofer is therefore not necessarily required for audiophile hi-fi music enjoyment. Additionally, an LCR resonant circuit has been integrated to optimally adapt the system to the vehicle acoustics. The crossovers are located directly on the woofer or as an inline crossover on the tweeter to allow easy installation.
