Beschreibung

Discover the LW-50W-3.9A, a capacitor charging resistor from the renowned manufacturer Masori. This device focuses on safety and efficiency. Its main features are a 50W halogen lamp that serves as a charging resistor and a cable length of 2x 15cm. The charging process is easy to follow: the halogen lamp lights up during charging and goes out as soon as the capacitor is fully charged. With a charging time of a few seconds for a 1F power cap or around 3-5 minutes for a 500F super capacitor, the LW-50W-3.9A impresses with its speed.

Capacitors should be charged before the positive pole is clamped onto the battery pole, otherwise the capacitor will charge rapidly. This creates a very high charging current. The following effects can occur:

    • An arc is created due to the high voltage difference between the capacitor (0V) and the battery (12V)
    • Due to the high charging current, the fuse in between can blow
    • The high charging current can also damage the battery in front of it if it does not have charging electronics.

Therefore, the CarHifi capacitor/power cap should be charged when first switched on. This protects all components in the CarHifi system. The same applies to large power amplifiers, which also have a large number of capacitors!

Features of the charging resistor for CarHifi Powercaps/Capacitors:

    • 50W halogen lamp serves as charging resistor
    • Cable length: 2x 15cm
    • 2 crocodile clips to be clamped between the power cable and the power cap.
    • The charging current is 4-5A. A 1F power cap is charged quickly within a few seconds. For a 500F super capacitor, the charging time is about 3-5 minutes.
    • The halogen lamp lights up during the charging process because electricity is flowing. When the charging process is almost finished, the lamp gets dimmer until it goes out. Then the power cap is fully charged and it can be connected directly to the power cable.
