The miniDSP ambiMIK-1 is an omnidirectional Ambisonic (FOA) microphone with integrated preamplifier, analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and USB processor. This compact solution enables high sampling rates (up to 32bit/192kHz) in a portable housing. For applications in the areas of VR/AR and music recording, the ambiMIK-1 does not require a bulky external preamplifier or XLR cable. A simple USB cable to your tablet/laptop and you're ready to go. you are ready to go!
With its 4 low-noise 14mm capsules, sleek aluminum housing and protective nylon frame, the ambiMIK-1 package is designed for durability and optimal performance without breaking the bank.
Last but not least, miniDSP has developed a VST plugin in collaboration with Dirac Research that is specifically calibrated for the miniDSP ambiMIK-1 and contains over 1200 measurements. The controls include Yaw/Pitch/Roll/Output Gain and Output Format (B-Format or Binaural).
The miniDSP ambiMIK-1 is a calibrated USB-C Reference measurement microphone with extremely low noise floor, 32-bit ADC with selectable sampling rate and individual calibration file.
The measuring microphone already has an integrated sound card and therefore only needs to be connected to the PC via USB-C and works completely independently, so that no measurement inaccuracies are guaranteed to be caused by the PC sound card.
The microphone is powered via USB-C and offers driver-free support on OS X and Linux. MiniDSP has developed its own ASIO driver for easy integration with Microsoft Windows.
The built-in ADC with 32-bit resolution converts the measurement signal while maintaining high quality. The UMIK-2 is recommended by REW (Room Equalisation Wizard) and DiracLive (V3.x and higher) for the highest measurement accuracy.
