    The Hertz H8 DSP car audio processor can be connected to any digital or analog source and transforms a "standard audio system" into a high performance audio system. The simple and intuitive computer software ensures that the system can be adapted to even the most complex environment with a variety of setting options. The software has 7 signal inputs consisting of 4 high level inputs that can also be used as low level inputs, a stereo AUX input and an optical digital input that can process signals with a sampling rate of up to 96KHz/24bit. The optical digital input (selectable via the DRC HE or the “Optical/AUX Select” input) prevents interference and influences on the signal by bypassing the A/D converters. Thanks to the configuration assistant, the H8-DSP can sum several filtered inputs, for example high plus low-mid tones, to create a flat full-range signal from which a front, rear, center and subwoofer signal can be generated. The test track on the included CD enables the H8-DSP to detect and correct interventions by the OEM head unit. The 8 PRE OUT (RCA outputs) of the H8-DSP have a 31-band equalizer, digital time delay correction, a crossover with 68 different frequencies and the option of setting the filter characteristics in Linkwitz-Riley or Butterworth (6 to 24 dB).


    The PC software has been developed according to specific criteria required by the car audio industry. It allows direct access to all available signal processing functions, providing immediate results and extreme operating precision. Setting the parameters of each input channel, adjusting the delays according to the listening position, setting the crossovers and equalizers for each output channel are just some of the operations managed by the PC software based on the Windows platform (XP, Vista, 7,8, 10) and can be used in standard or expert mode.

    The PC software is available in English, Italian, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. The user can select the language and the change will be applied to the drop-down menus as well as to the contextual help messages. The number of available languages ​​will increase: as updates become available, they can be downloaded from the Bit Drive portal (www.bitDrive.it ) can be downloaded.

    The DRC HE supplied allows the main functions to be controlled without using a PC. Thanks to the DRC HE, which can be installed in an ergonomic position in the dashboard or in an invisible place such as the glove compartment, the user can choose between two setups previously saved using the PC software. The individual input sources such as master, auxiliary and optical digital inputs can also be selected from the DRC HE, as well as volume, balance, fader and subwoofer volume controls.
