SB17CAC35 / Ceramic by SB Acoustics Description
The SB Acoustics SB17CAC35 6.5" (16.5cm) midwoofer with ceramic membrane is available in a 4 Ohm and 8 Ohm variant. The ultra-light and stiff membrane is driven by a powerful ferrite magnet. The resonance frequency around 30 Hz is well outside the usable range, allowing the driver to perform extremely linearly in the usable range and making it ideal for 2-way applications or as a pure midrange driver. The generously ventilated centering spider optimizes the rear compression behavior to a maximum and provides additional cooling.
Features
- Ventilated aluminum die-cast chassis for optimal strength and low compression
- Geometrically reinforced ceramic cone for optimal piston operation and low breakage.
- Soft, lightly dampening rubber surround for improved break-in behavior
- Non-conductive glass fiber coil carrier for minimal damping
- Extended copper sleeve on the pole shoe for low inductance and low distortion
- CCAW coil for reduced moving mass
- Durable silver wires
- Ventilated pole shoe for reduced compression
