Frequently Asked Questions about LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analogue

What is the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog from ACV?

The LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog from ACV is an adapter that enables the connection between an aftermarket radio and the original Steering Wheel Remote Control functions of an Alfa Romeo. This system is specifically designed for vehicles like the Alfa Romeo 147 and GT and supports models with CAN Bus and analog connections. The adapter includes various plugs such as ISO and Mini ISO and is compatible with original factory radios. Vehicles with features via Blue&Me or BOSE OEM sound systems require special connections, such as the Silverbox module or +12V Amp Remote, to ensure compatibility.

How is the installation of the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog carried out?

The installation of the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog requires a precise comparison of the depicted plugs of the adapter with those in the vehicle. Before final assembly, it should be checked whether the Steering Wheel Remote Control and all functions are working properly. The ISO/Mini ISO plugs are designed for connection with CAN Bus and analog systems. Especially in vehicles without ignition power terminal 15, it must be ensured that the +12V connections are correctly connected. Connections to specific radio manufacturers like Alpine or Kenwood via special connection cables should also be noted.

Which Alfa Romeo models is the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog compatible with?

The LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog is compatible with the Alfa Romeo models 147 (973) production dates from 09/2007 to 04/2010 and GT (937) from 02/2004 to 10/2010. These models use plugs and sockets that match the adapter, including Mini ISO plug C2 pin 10/11/12. However, vehicles with the BOSE sound system or Blue&Me require additional attention, as the Silverbox module must remain built-in and a +12V Amp Remote output is used for the BOSE system to ensure functionality.

What signals does the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog support?

The LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog supports various signals, including +12V ignition power (terminal 15), lighting (terminal 58), and a reverse signal. In addition to the color-coded connections with red, orange, and purple/white wires, the adapter also provides a handbrake signal via the green GND connection. These signals are important for the proper functioning of the Steering Wheel Remote Control and other vehicle controls. The total outputs have a load capacity of 100 mA and require relays with specific coil resistances for higher current demands.

Which radio manufacturers are compatible with the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog?

The LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog supports various radio manufacturers and their specific connection cables. This includes manufacturers such as Alpine, Parrot, Bosch-Blaupunkt, Blaupunkt, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic, Pioneer, and Sony. The adapter offers various cable options that can be individually tailored for each radio, such as the models 42ctalpinelead for Alpine or 42ctkenwoodlead for Kenwood. These manufacturer-specific cables ensure a stable and compatible connection between the aftermarket radio and the vehicle's steering wheel.

Which vehicle functions can be affected by the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog?

When using the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog, depending on the vehicle's equipment, the original control functions may be limited due to the replacement with an aftermarket radio. Some controllable elements may be lost or replaced by other functions. It is possible that vehicles with re-import or differing software may exhibit incompatible functions. An important point is that the functionality of the Steering Wheel Remote Control should be preserved, which may vary depending on the vehicle and software. Therefore, all functions should be thoroughly checked before final assembly.

What is the pin assignment of the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog?

The pin assignment for the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog varies depending on the connection. The Mini ISO Plug C2 uses pins 10, 11, and 12. For the connection to a +12V Amplifier, the connections are provided in the Mini ISO chamber C1, pin 6. The specific pins are essential for maintaining the control functions of the Steering Wheel Remote Control and other important vehicle functions. This detailed pin assignment helps to keep the electrical connection stable and functional, avoiding issues during installation.

What technical features are crucial for the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog?

Important technical features of the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog include its supported signal connections, maximum power requirements, and specific relays. The adapter can handle a total output load of 100 mA; if needed, relays with a coil resistance of at least 75 Ohms for 1 relay and 150 Ohms for 2 relays are required. Also significant are the advanced connection options via ISO and Mini ISO plugs, which simplify integration into Alfa Romeo models. These features are fundamental for the system's adaptability to various vehicle conditions.

Can the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog be used with a Blue&Me system?

Yes, the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog can be used with a Blue&Me system. However, it is necessary for the Silverbox module to remain in the vehicle to ensure full functionality. This compatibility ensures that the name display and other vehicle functions can be operated through the connection to the aftermarket radio using the original buttons of the Steering Wheel Remote Control. Properly inserting the plugs and checking compatibility with the adapter are essential steps to avoid unwanted functional failures.

What challenges are there in installing the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog?

The installation of the LFB Alfa Romeo ISO CAN Bus/Mini ISO analog can present some challenges. Particularly important is the matching of the optical and technical connections with those in the vehicle. Differences in vehicle software, as can occur with re-imported vehicles, must be considered, as they can lead to incompatibilities. Additionally, checking all installed vehicle components before final assembly is crucial to ensure that all functions, especially the Steering Wheel Remote Control, work correctly. Technical diligence and thorough pre-checks are essential during installation.
