While analog Class A/B technology always forces a compromise between sound and power efficiency, with Class D amps, efficiency and sound improve together. This means that with increased efficiency, the audio performance will also be significantly improved. Another advantage is that with a very high efficiency, large heat sinks can be dispensed with. The ZXT EXTREME amps achieve fantastic efficiency values ​​of around 90%.
