bit DMI by Audison

Audison bit DMI is an Amplifier Accessory and a digital interface for MOST systems based on fiber optics. It connects Audison bit processors and Audison Amplifiers with digital input to OEM multimedia systems in vehicles with MOST. The digital connection transmits the signal without loss of quality. OEM audio controls such as volume, balance, and tone controls, as well as hands-free, navigation system, and parking sensor alerts remain intact. The MOST optical input is connected via optical fibers. The optical TOSLINK output provides S/PDIF in stereo PCM 16 Bit format at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz, depending on the system. Digital control and configuration are done via USB Mini-B 2.0 and Windows-based software with programming and updates. Start controls automatically turn the interface on and off with the MOST system and generate the remote-out signal.

Frequently Asked Questions about bit DMI

How is the Audison bit DMI integrated into a vehicle with MOST technology?

The Audison bit DMI is directly connected to the OEM multimedia system via an optical fiber. The digital interface allows for seamless integration, where the original audio controls such as volume, balance, and tone remain unchanged. This integration ensures a direct connection with Audison amplifiers through the optical TOSLINK output, allowing audio data to be transmitted in stereo PCM 16bit format without loss of quality. Installation is done by connecting through the optical input, with the remote-out signal being automatically generated when the MOST system is activated or deactivated, making handling easier.

What audio formats does the Audison bit DMI support?

The Audison bit DMI processes audio data in stereo PCM 16bit format with a sampling rate of either 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz, depending on the specific system being used. Utilizing the optical S/PDIF output ensures that this audio data is transmitted in high quality to the Audison processors. This format support allows for accurate sound transmission, which is particularly relevant for music productions that require a high level of precision. Compatibility with Audison amplifiers with digital input completes the audio experience optimally.

How is the Audison bit DMI configured?

The configuration of the Audison bit DMI is done via a USB/Mini B (2.0) interface, allowing connection to a PC. A specific software is used that is compatible with Windows operating systems such as Win2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. Through this software, the device can be programmed and updated to be compatible with all vehicles equipped with MOST technology. Personal preferences in the audio setup can also be integrated here, significantly enhancing customization potential.

What advantages does the optical TOSLINK output of the Audison bit DMI offer?

The optical TOSLINK output of the Audison bit DMI enables lossless transmission of audio data in stereo PCM 16bit format to Audison processors with digital inputs. By utilizing fiber optic technology, data transmission disturbances are minimized, resulting in clearer sound quality. This technical feature not only ensures high compatibility with premium Audison devices but also supports optimal integration with the vehicle's existing audio system to provide an immersive sound experience.

Does the Audison bit DMI work with all OEM multimedia systems?

The Audison bit DMI is specifically designed for vehicle multimedia systems equipped with MOST technology based on fiber optics. This development allows the signal to be transmitted without loss of quality, while volume, balance, and tone controls, as well as service signals like the hands-free system and navigation device, are preserved. The existing infrastructure in the vehicle is thus optimally utilized without losing specific functions of the original multimedia system, highlighting the versatility of the interface.

Are software updates required for the Audison bit DMI?

Software updates for the Audison bit DMI are possible and recommended via the associated USB interface in combination with the Windows-based software to ensure compatibility with new vehicle models and optimize functionality. These updates allow for keeping pace with the continuously evolving OEM MOST systems and making adjustments to the latest technological standards. Regular updates ensure that audio signals continue to be transmitted in the highest available quality, positively impacting the system's longevity.

Which control functions are retained with the Audison bit DMI?

When using the Audison bit DMI, essential control functions of the OEM unit remain unchanged. This includes volume controls, balance controls, and sound adjustment options. Service signals such as the hands-free system, navigation system, and parking sensor warnings also remain functional. These functionalities allow for the complementary enhancement of the vehicle's existing information and entertainment system without compromising user-friendliness or built-in controls, significantly increasing user comfort.

How is the Audison bit DMI installed in the vehicle?

The installation of the Audison bit DMI is done by connecting it to the MOST-based multimedia interface of the vehicle using optical fiber. Care is taken during placement to ensure that there are no blockages or obstacles disrupting the light channel, to ensure flawless digital signal transmission. It is advisable to mount the interface in close proximity to the OEM main unit to keep the wiring short and guarantee the best possible audio quality. A professional installation ensures the longevity and functional stability of the system.

Can the Audison bit DMI be used with any Audison amplifier?

The Audison bit DMI is compatible with Audison amplifiers that have a digital input. This interface allows audio data to be fed directly and losslessly into the amplifier system. Due to standardized outputs, particularly through the optical S/PDIF connection, reliable and high-quality transmission is ensured. This opens up a variety of combination possibilities with Audison products to create customized audio system solutions that optimally support sound reproduction in the vehicle.

What accessories are needed to use the Audison bit DMI?

For the use of the Audison bit DMI, generally no large additional accessories are required. However, the appropriate optical fiber for connection to the OEM unit is important, as well as possibly a USB cable for software updates and programming. The use of the correct TOSLINK cable for connection to Audison devices is also necessary. When integrating with Audison amplifiers, additional tools may be required depending on the vehicle installation to assist with proper mounting, contributing to ensuring proper functionality.
