Frequently Asked Questions about PA2

What are the key performance features of the Eton PA 2?

The Eton PA 2 is a 2-channel Amplifier that impresses with a power output of 2 x 85 watts at 4 ohms and 2 x 140 watts at 2 ohms. In bridged mode, it delivers 1 x 285 watts at 4 ohms. It uses advanced Class-D amplifier technology. The signal-to-noise ratio of 88 dB ensures clear audio output. The damping factor at 4 ohms is over 40, and the THD+N is extremely low at 0.01% at 5W 1 kHz, providing highly accurate sound reproduction. These specifications make it ideal for the discerning music lover.

What filtering options does the Eton PA 2 Amplifier offer?

The Eton PA 2 Amplifier offers a range of filtering options to customize the sound profile. An adjustable low-pass filter with a selectable slope of 12 / 24 dB/octave allows for precise bass reproduction. The device also features a subsonic filter that can be adjusted via the high-pass. The high-pass active filter is adjustable between 25 and 250 Hz, as is the low-pass active filter. These features provide maximum flexibility in sound optimization and adaptation to individual listening habits and specific vehicle characteristics.

How can the Eton PA 2 be efficiently installed?

The installation of the Eton PA 2 is significantly simplified by the variable mounting feet designed for quick and flexible installation. The dimensions of the amplifier are 110 x 85 x 45 mm, allowing for space-saving installation in various vehicle types. Additionally, detachable connection plugs for power and audio signals facilitate installation by reducing wiring effort and enabling quick connections. These technical features ensure that the amplifier can be installed quickly and with minimal effort in a variety of vehicles.

What special features does the housing of the Eton PA 2 have?

The housing of the Eton PA 2 is made of aluminum die-cast and features an elegant matte gunmetal grey finish. One of its outstanding features is the removable, machined aluminum top plate, which not only provides a high-quality appearance but also contributes to better heat dissipation. The robust housing ensures durability and protects the internal components. These carefully designed details make the amplifier not only visually appealing but also functionally efficient by minimizing noise and optimizing sound quality.

What input options does the Eton PA 2 offer?

The Eton PA 2 offers both high-level and low-level input options, ensuring maximum connection convenience. The two high-level inputs allow for adjustment of the input resistances to 10, 150, or 600 ohms per channel pair, while the input signal voltage is variable from 1 to 15 V or 15 to 40 V. Additionally, there is a low-level input (RCA) available, enabling connection to most audio sources. This flexibility in input signal makes the amplifier compatible with various audio devices and significantly improves user-friendliness.

What features support the sound quality of the Eton PA 2?

Various technical features of the Eton PA 2 significantly contribute to its excellent sound quality. These include adjustable input resistance and voltage, which allow for precise adjustment of the input signal and minimize distortion. The amplifier is also equipped with a damping factor of more than 40 at 4 ohms, ensuring better control of the speaker. The signal-to-noise ratio of 88 dB and the low total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) of 0.01% at 5W 1 kHz also contribute to clear and detailed audio output.

How does Class-D technology affect the performance of the Eton PA 2?

The use of advanced Class-D amplifier technology in the Eton PA 2 offers several advantages in terms of performance and efficiency. Class-D amplifiers are known to generate less heat, which increases their efficiency and allows for smaller housing sizes. With higher efficiency, less energy is converted into heat, improving battery usage in vehicles. This makes it particularly suitable for use in modern vehicles with complex sound systems, as it provides high power with low energy consumption and minimal heat output.

What role does the Auto-Sense On function play in the Eton PA 2?

The Auto-Sense On function of the Eton PA 2 helps to automatically activate the Amplifier as soon as an audio signal is detected. This function is based on signal or direct current detection (SIG / DC), which not only simplifies usage but also minimizes energy consumption by turning on the Amplifier only when needed. This feature can be particularly useful in vehicles where the Amplifier is addressed by different sources, as it reduces the need for an additional remote power-on cable, further simplifying the installation process.

Is the Eton PA 2 start/stop capable?

Yes, the Eton PA 2 is start/stop capable, meaning it can be used seamlessly in vehicles with this feature. Start/stop systems turn off the engine during vehicle standstill to save fuel and reduce emissions. The PA 2 is designed to be compatible with these systems by adjusting its power supply, allowing it to continue running smoothly when the engine is restarted. This feature ensures that the sound system remains stable and without performance loss even during these brief engine interruptions.

What device compatibility does the Eton PA 2 offer for specific car models?

The compatibility of the Eton PA 2 is diverse; however, when installing, attention should primarily be paid to the dimensions and connection options, as no brand-specific optimization is indicated. The Amplifier fits into a variety of vehicles due to its compact dimensions (110 x 85 x 45 mm) and has variably adjustable high-level inputs that support connection with different vehicle systems. This makes it ideal for integration into existing audio systems, especially in vehicles that provide sufficient space for such an aftermarket solution, ensuring no loss in sound quality is noticed.
