Frequently Asked Questions about Prime M2-300x4 (B-Ware)

How does the C.L.E.A.N. circuit work in the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier?

The C.L.E.A.N. circuit of the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier from Rockford Fosgate helps you optimally adjust the gain settings. With this feature, you can check the input signal for distortion before it reaches the amplifier. Simple input/output clip detection with indicator LEDs makes distortions visible, ensuring clear and distinct audio signal amplification. The LEDs indicate when the signal reaches an unacceptable level. This allows you to make timely adjustments to avoid distortion and ensure optimal sound quality. This feature is essential, especially if you enjoy listening to music at high volumes.

What power does the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier provide at 4Ω and 2Ω?

The Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier from Rockford Fosgate delivers a rated power of 50 watts per channel at 4Ω and 75 watts per channel at 2Ω when operated in full-range setup. If you use the amplifier in bridged or mono mode at 4Ω, it delivers up to 150 watts per channel. This flexibility allows you to use the amplifier for various speaker systems and installation configurations. Additionally, the Class-D technology is highly efficient and reduces demands on your vehicle's electrical system, which can simplify installation.

How does the Element Ready™ design protect the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier?

The Element Ready™ design of the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier effectively protects the device from external influences. A robust, UV-stable, powder-coated aluminum housing provides protection against sunlight and weathering, while a conformally coated circuit board keeps the interior safe from dust and water. These protective measures are particularly useful when the amplifier is mounted in environments exposed to the elements, such as in open-air vehicles or marine applications. This significantly increases the longevity of the amplifier, and you can always rely on its performance.

What technical measures prevent noise in the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier?

The Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier uses balanced differential inputs to significantly reduce noise picked up by signal cables. This technology effectively eliminates interference that can often occur in complex audio systems. Additionally, the inputs feature a 2/4 channel input switch, allowing for flexible adaptation to RCA or high-level input signals. Integration with OEM and other radios is also supported by these measures. Thus, you can always expect clear sound reproduction without disturbances from the environment.

How is the input and output sensitivity of the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier specified?

The Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier has a wide range of input and output sensitivities designed for both low-level and high-level signals. The low-level input sensitivity is adjustable between 150 mV and 4 V, while the high-level input sensitivity ranges from 450 mV to 12 V. For signal output, low-level RCA pass-thru connections are available. This configuration allows for high flexibility in integrating into existing audio systems and ensures that you always find the optimal signal adjustment for your setup.

How does the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier handle high temperatures during operation?

The Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier features a focused mass heatsink that efficiently utilizes critical aluminum components to dissipate heat from the hottest internal parts. This process ensures that the amplifier operates reliably even during extended periods at high volumes. The heatsink is designed to distribute heat evenly, helping to minimize thermal stress. This is especially important when you use the amplifier in enclosed spaces or in locations where air circulation is restricted.

What are the dimensions of the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier and what does that mean for installation in the vehicle?

The Rockford Fosgate Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier measures 4.9 cm in height, 17.3 cm in width, and 25.5 cm in depth. This compact size allows for flexible installation in your vehicle, regardless of whether you have limited space or want to get creative in finding the ideal spot. The compact design is particularly advantageous for smaller vehicles or when you want to fit the amplifier into tight corners. Nevertheless, the amplifier delivers outstanding performance relative to its size.

What crossovers does the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier offer?

The Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier features fully adjustable 12 dB/octave high-pass and low-pass Butterworth filters. These filter frequencies between 50 Hz and 250 Hz. Both the high-pass and low-pass are capable of tailoring the audio output to your specific needs, providing better control over sound quality. All-pass options allow you to pass through the main frequencies. This is particularly helpful for adjusting the sound output based on speaker configuration and sound preference, creating an optimal listening experience.

How is the performance of the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier affected by increasing voltage?

The Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier utilizes a P.O.W.E.R. supply that produces more power with increasing voltage. This means that the amplifier is capable of efficiently increasing its output power when the power supply is stable. Such a mechanism is especially beneficial when you want to maximize the full potential of your audio system or when high levels are required during music playback. This keeps the amplifier's performance stable while the audible sound quality remains clear and robust at any volume level, without the risk of power drops.

How does total harmonic distortion (THD+Noise) affect the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier?

The total harmonic distortion (THD+Noise) of the Prime M2-300x4 Amplifier is less than 1.0% at both 4Ω and 2Ω. This low distortion ensures high audio quality with minimal signal noise, allowing for clear and distortion-free sound reproduction. This specification is particularly important for audiophile applications and for users who value precision and purity in their music. Even at maximum volume, the audio output remains clean and consistent, enhancing the listening experience.
