The JL Audio C1-525X is a 5" (13cm) coaxial speaker system that stands out from other models with its outstanding audio performance. With a 130mm bass-midrange driver and a 19mm aluminum dome tweeter, this model delivers real substance and great sound quality. Special attention has been paid to the heart of the C1-525X: A proprietary, stamped 130 mm steel frame and a DMA-optimized motor system ensure a smooth, dynamic and low-distortion sound. Compared to other speakers in its category, the C1 speakers feature superior clarity and definition in the high frequency range thanks to a true edge-driven aluminum dome tweeter. In addition, the same high-quality materials are used that are normally only found in more expensive speakers.

- The C1 bass-midrange drivers benefit from JL Audio's proprietary FEA modeling and experience in woofer development. This knowledge is used to develop speakers that can play loud while maintaining a smooth, dynamic and low distortion sound.
- At the heart of the C1-525x is a proprietary 5.25-inch (130 mm) stamped steel frame and a DMA-optimized motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-molded polypropylene cone is suspended with a rubber surround at the front and a carefully engineered flat Conex® spider on top of the voice coil to precisely control movement and prevent shock between the voice coil and backplate.
- These are the same features and materials normally found in much more expensive speakers.
- Equipped with a true edge-driven aluminum dome tweeter, the C1 speakers further set themselves apart from other speakers in their category with their superior clarity and definition in the high frequency range. The tweeter design inherently has excellent off-axis response and high frequency extension. It also benefits from the damping of a silk surround suspension and ferrofluid in the voice coil gap, as well as the superior strength of a neodymium magnetic circuit. A true 2nd order high-pass filter is used to further increase smoothness and improve power handling.
