DD Audio AM-3

Description

With the AM-3, DD Audio delivers a 3" (8cm) midrange driver that is characterized by its extensive characteristic features. The cast aluminum basket with open design promotes both stability and cooling and acts as a short-circuit ring. A voltage-optimized dual neodymium motor, matching the 1-inch copper-clad aluminum wire voice coil on a Kapton carrier, provides a balance of output efficiency and power handling. The highlight of the AM-3 is the aluminum cone with a butyl dust cap, which produces the sound of a cellulose cone, but with a precision that only an extremely rigid cone can deliver. The combination of all these elements ensures an impressive bandwidth and efficient energy transfer to the air.
