The Z 8" from Sundown Audio is a powerful 8-inch subwoofer that, despite its compact size, impresses with a power handling of 2000 watts RMS and 4000 watts peak. Designed for tight installation spaces, this subwoofer delivers robust sound quality, supported by a black 3-inch, 8-layer aluminum voice coil and a heavily vented magnetic gap. Additional features such as the specially engineered Mega-Roll v.2 surround and the stitched XL tinsel leads provide exceptional excursion and durability. Ideal for ported (bass-reflex) enclosures, the Z 8" is optimized for maximum airflow and cooling to deliver consistently high performance even under demanding conditions.

Don't be fooled by the size – the 8-inch subwoofer of the Z8 series was designed to far exceed expectations. With an incredible 2000 watts RMS and 4000 watts peak power, this compact powerhouse is ready to produce deep tones, deliver hard hits, and withstand heavy use – all while maintaining consistent control and clarity. The Z8 was engineered for high-performance systems with limited space and offers the same premium engineering as our larger Z-series drivers, packed into an 8-inch enclosure.

This subwoofer is built around a black 3-inch, 8-layer aluminum voice coil with a massive Xmax of 30 mm, giving it incredible excursion and power handling for its size. Every component is engineered for airflow and cooling: from the optimized high-speed pole vent to the ventilated die-cast aluminum frame spacer ring and the heavily ventilated magnetic gap. Add stitched XL tinsel leads, a Mega-Roll v.2 surround, custom spider packs, and a large aluminum Faraday ring — and you have a subwoofer designed for hard practical use and long-term performance.

The Z8 was specifically designed for bass-reflex enclosures (sealed enclosures are not recommended) and delivers its full performance in a 1.0 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 32 Hz. Whether you're building a powerful everyday unit or aiming for competition-level performance in the tightest of spaces, the Z8 delivers big bass in a small footprint – without compromise.
