The C1-650X from JL Audio is the top selling speaker system and consists of a coaxial speaker system with 6.5-inch (165 mm) woofer and 0.75-inch (19 mm) aluminum dome tweeter. Precision engineered, the system offers real substance and outstanding audio performance. Easy to install and suitable for numerous speaker positions, the C1-650X brings the best possible sound to your vehicle through JL Audio's proprietary woofer technology. Coaxial speaker system with 6.5-inch (165 mm) bass-midrange driver and 0.75-inch (19 mm) aluminum dome tweeter
The C1 speakers deliver real substance and great audio performance in a format designed to be easily fitted behind factory grilles.
To make installation easier, the C1-650x comes with multi-application adapter rings that allow easy installation in vehicles with oversized 6.5-inch and 6.75-inch speaker openings. Without the ring, the speaker will also fit into many "6-inch" speaker positions.
The C1 bass-midrange drivers benefit from JL Audio's proprietary FEA modeling and experience in woofer development.
At the heart of the C1-650x is a proprietary, stamped 6.50-inch (165 mm) steel frame and DMA-optimized motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-molded polypropylene cone is suspended with a rubber surround at the front and a carefully engineered flat Conex® spider on top of the voice coil to precisely control voice coil movement.
These are the same features and materials normally found in much more expensive speakers.
Equipped with a true edge-driven aluminum dome tweeter, the C1 speakers further set themselves apart from other speakers in their category with their superior clarity and definition in the high frequency range.
The tweeter design inherently has excellent off-axis response and high frequency extension. It also benefits from the damping of a silk surround suspension and ferrofluid in the voice coil gap, as well as the superior strength of a neodymium magnetic circuit. A true 2nd order high-pass filter is used to further increase smoothness and improve power handling.
