Description

    The 45-1125 - 45Ah LTO A-Grade 25C Extreme from GS Audio is a high-quality lithium titanium oxide (LTO) battery. With a nominal voltage of 2.4V and a capacity of 45Ah, this battery offers an impressive service life of over 16,000 cycles. The cells are capable of handling high charge and discharge currents and are suitable for a wide range of applications. Each cell weighs approximately 1 kg and measures 60 mm x 160 mm. The battery is designed for use in temperature applications from -55°C to 65°C.

Notes on LTO cells
  • The optimum operating range of the LTO cells is between 2.0V and 2.5V.
  • When charging the cells above 2.5V, the voltage rises more strongly, above 2.6V very strongly. The situation is similar when discharging below 2.0V!
  • It is therefore also very important to use a good active balancer for LTO cells that are connected in series.
  • When working with very high currents (charging or discharging), it may be necessary to further restrict the operating range in order to avoid large voltage increases or voltage drops.

Difference between LTO - LiFePO4 lithium batteries

Lithium titanate cells (LTO)
    • + extremely long service life
    • + 10x longer cycle life than LiFePO4 cells
    • + extremely safe
    • + Very high charging and discharging currents possible (5C-10C)
    • + weniger temperaturempfindlich, kann auch bei <0°C geladen werden
    • + now affordable, cells have become cheaper
    • + Very long service life (>25 years)
    • - LTO is more expensive than LiFePO4
    • - higher weight or less capacity
    • - lower cell voltage (2.3V), therefore more cells required for the same battery voltage
Lithium iron phosphate cells (LiFePO4)
    • + favorable price
    • + Large variety of capacities and sizes
    • + higher capacity
    • + higher cell voltage (3.2V), fewer cells required
    • - shorter service life
    • - not quite as safe as LTO
    • - max. charging and discharging currents are significantly lower (2C-3C)
