ECP-M5 by Emphaser Description
The ECP-M5 speaker set from Emphaser offers an impressive combination of a 5-inch midbass driver and a 25 mm tweeter. Equipped with an aluminum diaphragm, the midbass driver delivers detailed and low-distortion sound reproduction, while the tweeter with its fabric dome reproduces even the smallest musical details. The crossovers are designed to provide precise sound staging and easy installation. Additional features such as the strontium ferrite magnet and the durable butyl rubber surround highlight the quality of this speaker set. With a rated power handling of 100 watts RMS and a sensitivity of 87 dB, the ECP-M5 is suitable for various installation scenarios. The package includes tweeters, midbass drivers, crossovers, and speaker grilles.
The Midbass Driver
Our aluminum diaphragm midbass driver is ideally suited for detailed and extremely low-distortion reproduction due to its hardness and high natural resonance frequency. The thickness of the diaphragm is chosen to provide the stability needed for powerful bass attacks and the necessary lightness for precise midrange. The durable surround ensures that the ECP-M5 maintains its precise reproduction even at high levels and thus high diaphragm excursions. The clean, crisp bass foundation and its level capabilities are thanks to the powerful strontium ferrite magnets of the mid/woofer. Details such as the aluminum die-cast basket with optimized temperature management, the butyl rubber surround, a copper cap on the pole core, a 2-layer copper wire voice coil on a heat-resistant aluminum voice coil former, and the durable Connex centering spider with woven-in voice coil lead underline the quality of these speakers.
The Tweeter
The 25 mm fabric dome tweeter impresses with its warm sound and can reproduce even the smallest musical details. The diaphragm geometry offers a uniform directivity pattern for excellent sound in various installation situations. Besides the low weight of the diaphragm, surround, and voice coil, the deliberate omission of ferrofluid is primarily responsible for the tweeter’s lively, spatial, and distortion-free performance.
The Crossover
The components of the crossovers were defined through intensive test series in the lab and in the vehicle to achieve the best possible phase alignment of the components. The result is authentic-sounding voices and instruments with precise stage imaging and impressive spatial depth. The crossovers are divided into separate housings for the tweeter and midbass branches. This allows easy installation at the original mounting location without running new cables across the vehicle.
