Frequently Asked Questions about Gravity GTX2600.6D

What is the main advantage of Class-D technology in the Gravity GTX2600.6D?

The Gravity GTX2600.6D from Crunch uses Class-D technology, which allows for high energy efficiency and low heat generation. This technology ensures that the amplifier converts less energy into heat and provides more power for actual operation. As a result, the amplifier can achieve a total output of up to 1500 Watts RMS without significantly losing efficiency. Such efficiency advantages are crucial for compact designs like this model, delivering maximum performance despite the small dimensions of 135 x 48 x 320 mm. Additionally, Class-D technology reduces weight, making installation easier.

What power does the Crunch Gravity GTX2600.6D deliver at different impedances?

The Crunch Gravity GTX2600.6D can be used flexibly at different impedances. At 4 Ohm, the amplifier delivers 6 x 120 Watts RMS, while the power increases to 6 x 220 Watts RMS at 2 Ohm. In bridged configuration at 4 Ohm, it provides 3 x 440 Watts RMS. Maximum power ratings are 6 x 240 Watts Max at 4 Ohm, 6 x 440 Watts Max at 2 Ohm, and even 3 x 880 Watts Max at 4 Ohm bridged. The various configuration options allow for optimal adjustment of the speaker system, which is significantly advantageous for audiophile applications.

What filter settings does the Gravity GTX2600.6D offer?

The Gravity GTX2600.6D is equipped with comprehensive filtration adjustment options. For the front channels, there is a variable high-pass filter ranging from 10 to 5000 Hz, while the rear channels are equipped with a high-pass filter from 10 to 250 Hz. Additionally, there is a rear low-pass filter from 50 to 5000 Hz and a special bandpass mode. For the sub-channel, a low-pass filter from 50 to 250 Hz and a subsonic filter from 10 to 50 Hz are provided. The integrated bass boost also allows for an increase in bass by up to 12 dB, ensuring a rich sound volume.

How is the bass level adjusted on the Gravity GTX2600.6D?

For precise control of the bass, the Crunch Gravity GTX2600.6D features a compact bass level remote control. This allows you to adjust the bass output in real-time. The bass boost on the sub-channel allows for a variable increase of 0 to 12 dB, which can be flexibly adjusted to personal listening preferences and acoustic conditions. Especially if you enjoy listening to music loudly, this feature offers a special sound experience. The remote control is compactly designed and can be conveniently placed in the car without taking up much space.

How does the automatic power-on function work with the Gravity GTX2600.6D?

The Gravity GTX2600.6D from Crunch is equipped with a sophisticated automatic power-on function. Using the high-level inputs with EPS, the amplifier detects an incoming audio signal and automatically activates the device without the need for a separate power-on signal. This function minimizes installation effort, especially in older vehicle systems without remote cables. It also ensures a safe shutdown when no signal is received. This saves power and optimizes functionality, allowing you to rely on a reliable music listening experience.

What unique design elements does the Crunch Gravity GTX2600.6D offer?

The Gravity GTX2600.6D amplifier impresses not only with its technical specifications but also with its exceptional design. It features a two-color illuminated logo panel, which is further emphasized by an embedded acrylic strip. These optical features set unique accents in any audio installation. The high-quality aluminum heat sink not only ensures efficient heat dissipation but also contributes to the elegant appearance. This combination of function and design makes the amplifier a gem in any vehicle interior and sets it apart from other models.

How do I install the Gravity GTX2600.6D in the car?

Installing the Crunch Gravity GTX2600.6D is relatively simple thanks to its compact dimensions of 135 x 48 x 320 mm. Its small size allows for placement in many vehicle models, regardless of limited space. It is important to choose a location that is suitable for effective cooling as well as for routing the necessary cables. Amplifying the audio system is straightforward, as both RCA and high-level inputs are available on the device. The input selectors allow for both 2-channel and 6-channel operation, enabling the amplifier to be adapted to various audio system configurations.

What role does the bandpass mode play in the Gravity GTX2600.6D?

The bandpass mode of the Gravity GTX2600.6D is particularly important for the rear channels. It allows for more precise frequency selection by using both high-pass and low-pass filters simultaneously to let through only a specific frequency range. This is ideal for optimizing the transitions between midrange speakers and subwoofers, thus improving the overall sound image. Especially in complex sound setups involving rear speakers, this mode unleashes its full potential. In combination with the other filtering options, this mode allows for customized sound tuning.

How does the input selector switch support the versatility of the Gravity GTX2600.6D?

The Gravity GTX2600.6D features an input selector switch that offers you the flexibility to choose between 2-channel and 6-channel operation. This means you can use the amplifier either as a centralized control element for a comprehensive sound system or as a specific amplifier for certain speaker configurations. This adaptability is ideal for custom car audio tuning and allows for consideration of specific acoustic requirements and preferences. The switch significantly simplifies operation and is particularly useful when different music sources or listening demands are at the forefront.

How do the high-level inputs with EPS process audio signals in the Crunch amplifier?

The high-level inputs with EPS (Electronic Protection System) in the Crunch Gravity GTX2600.6D provide stable and reliable processing of audio signals. By directly accepting high-level outputs, the signals are efficiently converted into a form that the amplifier can process. This ensures a strong connection to many OEM systems that do not have specific low-level outputs. EPS ensures that potential overloads or signal disturbances are effectively avoided, resulting in clear and uncolored sound. Especially when you want to upgrade an existing audio system in a vehicle, these inputs are extremely advantageous.
