• 2-way component system with 6 x 9-inch (150 x 230 mm) bass-midrange driver and 1.0-inch (25 mm) aluminum dome tweeter
  
• The C1 speakers deliver real substance and great audio performance in a format designed to be easily fitted behind factory grilles.
  
• To facilitate installation, spacers/adapter rings are supplied to allow the C1-690 woofers to be installed in all applications. The C1 tweeters are equipped with surface and flush mounting for maximum installation flexibility.
  
• The C1 woofers benefit from JL Audio's in-house FEA modeling and woofer development expertise.
• At the heart of the C1-690 is a proprietary stamped oval 6 x 9 inch (150 x 230 mm) steel frame and a DMA-optimized motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-molded polypropylene cone is suspended with a rubber surround at the front and a carefully engineered, low-profile Conex® spider at the top of the voice coil to precisely control movement and prevent shock between the voice coil and backplate.
• These are the same features and materials normally found in much more expensive speakers.
  Equipped with a true edge-driven 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter, the C1-690 further sets itself apart from other speakers in its category with its superior high-frequency clarity and definition.
• The tweeter design has inherently excellent off-axis response and high frequency extension. It also benefits from the damping of a silk surround suspension and ferrofluid in the voice coil gap, as well as the superior strength of a neodymium magnetic circuit. A 2nd order inline high pass filter with advanced tweeter protection circuitry is integrated to further enhance quietness and improve power handling.
